June 1716, Musings of a scribe

A bit late for the June closing notes, but hey, FISHING! Woohoo!
Who would have thought 1 week ago, admin would get us all sitting out of port staring at the sea-gulls? :D

Seriously, it gives us a bit of reward while doing the real work: trading. :)

Then I thought to myself, I could create a post: Diplo patch, nah, who needs it?

Yes, I am biased, I don't like the diplos. They bring peace... urgh... :P

But really, will we ever get content in game to the level of:

Basically the game has enough to give people these options. Or am I missing something?

There is an AUSFC Nation, not because of the mechanics, but because we organize it. And the same goes up all the way into Pirates, we organize.

There are a couple of real pirates though, AGM & TBS clan for example. I say kudos to them for going for the hard life.
And off course there is D4mi4n, the one and true scoundrel of the server. He is rightfully proud of the title, and yes we will hunt him till the end of times.

Moving on to the war in Honduras.

While I told everybody that we shouldn't put anything outside 10-12, it happened anyway (first with D4mi4n further down south, but that's another story). It started I think with Sandy Bay, which we lost practically the same day.
And then Ruatan, so we had no option but to move in the Spanish. And now Utila again.
Despite talking about cooldowns, the flag purchase has been implemented as a port battle cooldown, so I consider it bugged:

It's not that I do not want other time zones to participate. I would love to see action around Bonacca 24/7.

Then there is the upcoming removal of "Send to outpost".

I have mixed feelings on those. It is good, because assets will no longer warp across the map.
It is bad, because it may require lots of AFK sailing. However we now have 2 things to mitigate that pain:

  1. Fleets, you can transport multiple ships
  2. FISHING!

Maybe we need AI captains:

So all in all, we need the new port war patch first and then possibly the diplo.
Because another area has been brewing, causing trouble, the economy...

Thus as always, I'll keep an open mind and let myself be surprised what's coming.
Speaking of which, I'm off hunting bottles again. :D
