Ruthless4u Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 From being able to play again I have a question about the most recent update, given that there is sometimes a big difference between reading about an update and playing it. How much more time does the crew management add to the neccasary PVE aspect of the game? Given my average session time is 60-90 mins most days will really screw me up? My main goal in game is to hunt down other players in the OW and the challenges that represents.

Time is really not a factor in crew management you need only refilling when in port with a pair of clicks and buying another "kit", officer only needs taking a decissión once each pair of battles, no real concern. If you are going form a fleets it can be tricky first time , as you make your mind yo how much crew allocate to each ship, but no real time sink after that
Jeheil Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 It is good and brings another layer to the game. Crew loss is expensive (currently 500g per head) and you need to assess how you manage that (craft medkits) or rebuy at port, boarding can be expensive, surrendering a lost cause can save you lots of money...but cost you pride !! When we get medical officers more complexity arrives. For me it brings in another layer and cost to manage. However the AI fleets are no longer over-crewed and thus much easier to cap. You can also fleet as a rear admiral. So you can sail about in a coni with two of your trincs as your own fleet.
DeRuyter Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 I usually have the same amount of time as you per session. Once you figure out how the crew management works it really doesn't add any time - particularly if you are only sailing your main ship. It may actually be easier to catch players on the OW since they are slowed down by their AI "fleet". No reason you can't pvp the AI doesn't do much. The problem may be that a player trader can get away by sacrificing his AI escort.
