Hunt for Red October (SPOILER ALERT)

First: This is an Early Access Alpha Game, so we need to chase down these things in the open to get them sorted before release.

 

Second: DO NOT download anything that is not certified by the devs. Anything downloaded from some random site can (and probably will) harm at least your Naval Action installation and potentially your full computer.

 

Third: Be open minded. I can tell you, bashing results in warnings, warnings results in bans.

 

So Red October has been building some mod you can see at:

My Russian however is very poor. Read: non-existent.

 

So I would like to know what this mod can do. Because if it is possible through a mod, either devs need to certify the mod or we need to bring it in game.

 

Specifically looking at 0:53 onward. What are those battle crosses on the map?

 

If the mod sends up player positions to a personal server to be displayed on the modder map, then we have an issue.

I can't wait for the day x-y coords will finally be removed from the game ... Not visible anymore using F11, still sent encrypted to the dev's when a bug report will be done in game but not possible to be decrypted by some programs and tools like it is now ... I just don't know why it isn't the case already and can only hope this day will come very soon... It's not in the initial spirit of the game, i rather see tools on the map like in SH series to draw on the map..

 

This said i like the map in the first video with reliefs, if it did not had all coordinates and squares on it it will be nice to have it in a high resolution picture or in game like he have.

Even the other day we had a fellow asking for help and kept spamming coordinates...

enough said. Beauty of it ? Many were just asking him to stop with the coords because they didn't care but rather say a realtive location and direction.

 

Guess what ? It worked perfectly with no coords.
