Skully Posted June 21, 2016 Posted June 21, 2016 As per http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/14676-pvp1-june-the-british-honduras-campaign-pirate-perspective/?p=273848 and http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/14676-pvp1-june-the-british-honduras-campaign-pirate-perspective/?p=273873 , Jeheil and myself respectfully request a ruling on Pakinsanious's statement that a green-on-green kill on a fireship is justified to blow up enemy assets. http://images.akamai.steamusercontent.com/ugc/267217313737309704/652A87BC4644DDCEDDE1D5F98FA64178450B6447/ According to the tribunal rule http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/6419-warning-friendly-kills-for-all-nations-are-not-allowed/ : Any green on green kills are forbidden. We would like a ruling on this, not to give Pakinsanious a penalty or warning, but rather to get clarification. Personally I think it is a valid tactic and the green-on-green rule needs to be amended. Anybody wishing to comment on the tactic itself, please use http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/14700-fireshipsshould-they-live-on-after-explosion/
Jeheil Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 Just a clarification, its not so much of a kill as a green on green shots to 'light up' a fireship. And again we are not asking for a penalty in this case...just clarification.
Skully Posted June 22, 2016 Author Posted June 22, 2016 For reference purposes: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/6419-warning-friendly-kills-for-all-nations-are-not-allowed/?p=236164 Consensual green on green damage, especially to deny a resource to the enemy, or, for example, asking a friendly to ram between you and an enemy locked in boarding action to prevent you from losing, is ok. Nonconsensual green on green is not ok. Bear in mind that consensual or not, doing too much green damage will cause you to run afoul of the automated systems, so use consensual green on green damage frugally. Re-affirmed by the latest green-on-green kill tribunal: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/13708-brits-exploiting-green-on-green-to-avoid-capturing/?p=251639 Note that the penalty for Russian speaking players is a complete XP reset. http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/11095-%D1%83%D1%82%D0%BE%D1%87%D0%BD%D0%B5%D0%BD%D0%B8%D0%B5-%D0%BF%D0%BE-%D0%BF%D1%80%D0%B0%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%BB%D0%B0%D0%BC-%D0%BF%D0%BE%D1%82%D0%BE%D0%BF%D0%BB%D0%B5%D0%BD%D0%B8%D1%8F-%D0%B7%D0%B5%D0%BB%D0%B5%D0%BD%D1%8B%D1%85/ So in effect I would propose: Sinking, boarding, or denial of the derelicts is allowed against friendlies for anyone. Any green on green kills, due to non-consensual green-on-green fire (direct or in-direct through for example fireships), are forbidden. If friendlies sink you file a F11 report from the battle, make screenshots, and report it to Tribunal. If ruled in favor of the plaintiff, the defendant gets a full XP reset.
Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted June 22, 2016 Posted June 22, 2016 The general consensus when this was discussed is that "lighting" a fireship as you've described here is ok, so long as the fireship Captain is ok with it. Once again, be careful that the automated damage systems don't get you though. Repeat instances of non-consensual green on green damage should be reported with screenshots in Tribunal. Those making a habit of shooting greens without permission will be demoted. 2
