Zelekendel Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 I've been sitting on that VP, driving the union off time and time again from the ridge with uncontested control - but I never got the VP. And that was until the end of the game, approx. 20-30 minutes. Won't be playing this scenario again. And naturally I was playing against a friend at spot #500 something, "lost", due to this, and saw a massive drop in rank. Figures.
Don't Escrow Taxes Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 On the bright side you can continue beating me, you just won your second game vs. me today i believe.
Zelekendel Posted August 24, 2014 Author Posted August 24, 2014 Oh really - I figured it might have been the same player - you are so good at this that I was nearly beaten - how you get those Union boys to accomplish stuff that I've seen fail every other time - I believe it's all about the micro-management and deep knowledge of how the game works. 1
Nick Thomadis Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 The issue of McPherson objective to be called "Oak Hill" and to be some times difficult to secure will be fixed in next patch and many other that you players have reported. Thanks for the continuous feedback.
R.E.B.Blunt Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 The rank system itself is unfair. I lost one battle went down from rank 1 to 12 then have not lost a battle since played a good 10 more and my rank further goes down. Is this because I am battling random low rank people? Does the people who have higher rank not play against the general population in order to keep the high rank or how does that work...?
RichardMcCor Posted August 24, 2014 Posted August 24, 2014 I'm up to #23 now. Mostly as union with victories against all kinds of people although the game against you REB was a draw. You ran up north and then swept down south. Quite a surprise for my guys who were expecting the normal full on slog.

Ya I was surprised Paul held better than the Iron Brigade. He would not break even when I had everyone else running. Then your reinforcements arrived. I had to fall back.. It was a good game for sure.
RichardMcCor Posted August 25, 2014 Posted August 25, 2014 Yes, having the corps commander camped out with Paul often works. Or keeping him and the Iron boys close and use corps commander on both is also very effective. Of course annoying everyone with the videttes running about and stamping on the arty is almost always effective. Some Reb commanders now protect them with the Heth Skirmishers or the videttes grind them down one at a time. Recently i lost as Union (i think for losing too many men in the scenario). I held all but one VP (Herrs Ridge) and still lost. 7K dead vs 4K i recall.
