ChrisPhilpott Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 When in port, provide a "window" looking out into the harbour, so we can see ships approaching/leaving without having to undock. When in port, provide a wind gauge, so we can see wind direction without having to undock, thereby enabling us to determine if wind direction is favourable for starting our next voyage. Make increased use of flags for identification, instead of allowing us to determine information just by clicking on a ship. For example: force us to identify a ship's nation by sighting its nation flag; use flags/pennants to signify the rank of the ship's captain; have a flag/pennant that distinguishes between ships piloted by AI and those piloted by real people; allow clans the ability to design their own masthead flag/pennant. Identifying the contents of an accompanying fleet would be more tricky...! When in Port, allow users to sort the contents of the Resources/Materials/etc., tabs, either alphabetical, by availability, by cost, etc. Introduce "random" events in open world, particularly when far from land, such as: a chance to encounter and rescue a survivor from a recent battle, clinging to floating wreckage, and the opportunity to earn some kind of reward for returning them safely to a port of their choosing. Just my two cents worth!
Anolytic Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 I think that the idea of flags in OW has been discussed before and more or less dismissed due to the system resources it would require.
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted June 7, 2016 Posted June 7, 2016 You do not want the very first suggestion. I can assure you, you will not want the first suggestion. Why ? It will make a trader raider life so much easier it is hard to believe
