Rebel Witch Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 This game aims to realism so i had an idea that may appeal to the crafters as well as the PVPrs and those who just like to see where a ship has been. I propose that for each ship that is built by a player that it has a log associated with it that the owner can read. So the log begins when the crafter builds the ship. Here is an example of what the log would say. Log Entry 3rd of June 2016. Ship built by Rebel Witch in Port Royal Now lets say Rebel Witch then sells the ship on the market or trades it to someone. The log would stay with the ship as it exchanges hands. So the next owner would be able to click on the log and read a new entry... Log Entry 3rd of June 2016. Ship built by Rebel Witch in Port Royal Log Entry 4th of June 2016. Ship purchased for 300,000 gold by Capt McFly in Port Royal So lets say Mcfly then fits out his ship and then sails it on a mission, at which point he gets too slow, gets boarded and loses a durability on the ship. Log would read.. Log Entry 3rd of June 2016. Ship built by Rebel Witch in Port Royal Log Entry 4th of June 2016. Ship purchased for 300,000 gold by Capt McFly in Port Royal Log Entry 5th of June 2016. One durability lost in naval actions vs NPC Victory So then lets say Capt Mcfly gets angry and he then gives the ship via trade to a clan mate for free Log Entry 3rd of June 2016. Ship built by Rebel Witch in Port Royal Log Entry 4th of June 2016. Ship purchased by Capt McFly in Port Royal for 300,000 gold Log Entry 5th of June 2016. One durability lost in naval actions vs NPC Victory Log Entry 5th of June 2016. Ship traded to Joe Sailsalot in Carlisle for 0 gold Lets say Joe sailsalot loves PVP and he takes the ship out trying to find some action, he does and proceeds to sink Master Fails Frigate Log Entry 3rd of June 2016. Ship built by Rebel Witch in Port Royal Log Entry 4th of June 2016. Ship purchased by Capt McFly in Port Royal for 300,000 gold Log Entry 5th of June 2016. One durability captured in naval actions vs NPC Victory Log Entry 5th of June 2016. Ship traded to Joe Sailsalot in Carlisle for 0 gold Log Entry 7th of June 2016. PVP Kill Frigate An hour later Joe sailsalot is then attacked by Master Fails friends and loses a durability to ToraTora and his Constitution Log Entry 3rd of June 2016. Ship built by Rebel Witch in Port Royal Log Entry 4th of June 2016. Ship purchased by Capt McFly in Port Royal for 300,000 gold Log Entry 5th of June 2016. One durability lost in naval actions vs NPC Victory Log Entry 5th of June 2016. Ship traded to Joe Sailsalot in Carlisle for 0 gold Log Entry 7th of June 2016. PVP Kill Frigate Log Entry 7th of June 2016. One Durability sunk in PVP naval actions vs ToraTora Constitution So the ship now has only 2 durability left you could remove the names and just have the events, im sure people are fine with that too but what if you buy a ship that you had months ago, you can see that with names I just think it would add a nice touch to the game so we could see the history of a ship, see credit for who crafted it, when it was crafted, some ship history. imagine buying a ship that is 2 years old, two years from now. just fun stuff like that. see you in game! 7
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 Absolutely. This is of grave importance to a lazy freebooter than only takes notes on the captain's log now and then. Oh yes, it might be handy to the crafters as well
HardyKnox Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 There is a manual entry Captain's Log in the game? If so, where/how does one access the existing Captains Log?
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted June 4, 2016 Posted June 4, 2016 No. I keep a pencil and a notebook by my side. Old habits die old
