PvP 2 merge?

I have had more PVP in the last 4 days than my 2 months on the server thats with a max of 160ppl, playing as GB. The GB guys have banded together and are having fun for the first time since some disruptive players have left. So there is a new a vibe going around the server. Players are trying to get there mates to come play. So in short there is a new energy on the server at the moment would be a shame to wipe it out. The euro eould not gain 160 new players but lose the majority all together.

How is it everybody refers to PvP1 as being the toxic server? We have our banter, we have our fights, it's not like you'll be insta sunk or insulted for no reason. I would rather call it a healthy competition.

There are some people using some exploits, but those are only a few and are only temporary, I can not speak for other nations, but I have very rarely seen toxic behavior on britchat not have I ever been insulted in a PvP battle apart from some random banter nothing toxic worthy realy.

 

Obviously with more players you are more likely to get ganked etc... but that probably wouldn't be different on other PvP servers.

Ive never understood, from the onset of OW, the desire for pvp1 to take over pv2. Is it a ego thing or some competitive thing ? Ive seen people come in and offer free gold andships etc to leave the pvp2 server and join the pvp1 server amd this was months ago.

Honestly tell me , how is a pvp2 server hurting you or anyone else on pvp1 at all ? On tje other hand it is obvious that some players DO LIKE pv2 and it will affect them to be merged.

Tje devs do what they want regardless but im just asking what it is with the pvp1 crowd that nakes them want to gobble up pv2 so bad and dont say " more players " because there is nobody on pvp2.

Looking at the population on servers during my prime to looks to me that if all the north and south american players that left pvp2 had stayed our population would be bigger than pvp1 at our prime time so the merger even makes less sense to me.

Since the European and russian population by far outnumbers the north and south american population it seems lik pvp1 players just want to dictate what happens in game . If the euro/russiam population is so much higher then they will basically dictate everything that happens while US time zones sleep or are at work and then the smaller population from those time zones have nothing to do but clean up what has already been done.

I just see zero benifit from a forced merge but lots of downsides for those who very obviously do not want to swap servers.

EDIT. I would really like to hear a devs imput on this because if its a maintenance thing i guess i see why but other than that i just dont understand this idea behind forcing people to play ( or not play) on a server they dont want to. In fact i bet if something was offered to allow a one time swap back to pvp2 alot of players would since i have seen lots of guys come back after not liking pvp1.

From a data mining standpoint I would think there's also a benefit to having the two PVP servers remain separate.  Two different worlds of interactivity surely produce more feedback than a single one with just a few more people on it.  Why would you want to merge and lose data input?

Perhaps rather than "taking over" PvP2 (or visa versa). The devs could allow a opportunity for players to transfer their assets to PvP1. That way those who would like to remain can do so. And if we ever need more room for a larger population it's already there. And players can access a lower ping if they feel they benifit from it.

Or we will be forced into one server. But then it seems we are just material for other players who are seeking a target.

I like the choice to play on both servers

My good Sir, you might have misunderstood me completely.

 

In no way do I intend to motivate the devs or players to merge PvP2 with the PvP1 server, at all, you will not see me saying any of that across the forum, I can guarantee you.

In another post I mentioned that the beauty of this game is that everybody can play the game however he wants, and that includes on whatever server he wants. Players need to be happy, that is what counts.

 

I was only questioning why people refer to the PvP1 server as being the "Toxic" server, as I don't realy consider it to be a toxic server.

I have never seen a question unanswered by any of the new players, I have seen people handing out ships to new people, people offering to help people by doing missions together. I have seen people giving away upgrades to everyone below M&C rank, bad language is not tollerated, and if you are being very agressive in your use of language people will warn you to watch your language.

 

You have your alt's, spies and troll's. But the community will warn you whenever a "scammer" will offer LH's in nationalchat.

Clanwise I have been on different TS with different clans, all being very kind, german clans doing an extra effort to speak english or translate what others are saying.

For me it really doesn't matter at this point. I started on PVP1 cause it had the better population, but I switched over to the PvP2 server cause it has better ping and I'm a US player and it has a better US population.  The only thing I would like is to combine my dang ships and BP's.  I have had the worse luck getting BP's on PvP2 compared to when I was on PvP1...and I only got my freebie ships on that server.  I know things will get wipe when the time comes, but still would be nice to put both server work together.

 

I say leave them alone, it's not like the PvE server is over populated too and needs to be combined with one of the other servers.

I know this game has become nothing but teleports and port battles and if the forums are any indication of the general mindset of players then it seems the bulk of forum goers only consider port battles pvp and the only thing that the game should be geared to. Just so you know there used to be a massive group of players who did nt care for the mundane and boring fluster cuck that are port battles. Some of us who play as privateer or true pirates or who enjoy patrols in frigates love the open world hunt and chase and open world battle and the escape that follows. Since missions have been made closer , easier and more giving in xp and gold because of ease amd the shorting of timers the open world hunt is all but dead. Yes you can finaly find someone who cant find a trade ship to attack for the teleport who is forced to move by sea but its far and few inbetween.

Even if you do find the rare open sea battle you then have to deal with everyone in the nation teleporting ahead and behind you and just sandwiching you and IF you can get past that they quickly port amd teleport again ahead of you.

Please stop judging all pvp on port battles otherwise youre gonna be very sad shortly when you can only cap a port 1 time a week. Open wolrd USED to matter.

Why did you post that link?  If you read that thread then you would have seen the word "Potential" at the front of the merge bullet item, which means it's not been decided yet and is still in discussion.  That's why this thread exists.  Do you have something to add to it, or is your implication simply that this thread is worthless?  If you have something to discuss please discuss it.

 

There is a separate community on pvp2 and a different vibe.  Unless there is a corporate mandate for them to eliminate a server, to save development costs for example, there is no benefit to merging.  Player numbers will make no difference on pvp1.  I and others have given many reasons why it's not a good thing though.

Don't worry about them. To a sane person the link makes perfect sense in this thread. If they just did an optional asset transfer for those that want to go too pvp1 everyone would be happy.

as for the Australians leaving the USA server it was our choice because nothing was happening in our prime apart from a bit of open world PVP you will understand when you reach Rear Admiral and LVL 50 in crafting that there is not much left to do in the game so PVP is what chose to do,

I've played on pvp2 since February and also witnessed SOL, SOB, and the pirates out east leave. It's like these two posters never seen it when it was truly good. It's a shell of its former self (pvp2).

How do you know what the purpose of this thread is when tyrant started it?

Gee Whiz, I have ports all over the map, so if you think I am one of the care-bears your mistaken. Mate you were toxic on the server and toxic in here, I can't tell you how happy we are that you and all you so called clan left. The GB nation is back to having a good time and lots of fun, you don't play on PvP2 anymore anyhow, so what do you care, well that's not exactly true, you still come one with your other account to trade. How many accounts do you have again? I forget. YOU are one of the guys that should be ban. IMO your nothing but a cheat. So go take a chill pill or go play in the traffic. Naval Action dose not need ppl like you and your clan that is already causing trouble on PvP1. 

 

Back to the topic of merger, players will come back and new one join ever day, with the new patch timetable may well create some interest again from some of the old hands. Maybe its time for a free weekend or 25% sale to bring in some new players.

To get them to play on PvP2 give them a starter pack and give 2 rank buffs if they play on the PVP2 sever. Ideas are what we need not negative inputs from fools.

Add a vote against PVP2 merging into PVP1, if people want to move and have their stuff go with them, please allow them to do so irreversibly by pressing a button on the main menu once, that way it won't stretch the server resources, i realise thats alot more to program than push button once, but I will not be playing this game if I am pushed to a 400+ms latency on EU 1, Yes I know many of my fellow australians are happy playing on PVP1, good for them, I'm happy theyre happy, I'm happy where I am, thankyou. I enjoy PVP2's community, my half decent latency and that people are definetly having fun, maybe not every single night but its busy on weekends, and its not like everyone can play this game every single damn day although clearly alot of us do.
