Horror Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Careful what you wish for. Better to wait for the Pirate fix first.
Tyrant Posted June 2, 2016 Author Posted June 2, 2016 I would rather have the merge than a pirate fix.
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 I would rather have the merge than a pirate fix. Yes. I feel this would be better, especially for testing purposes with high population counts. 1
Jean LaPointe Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Although, one of the reasons why I get on the PvP2 server is the ping rate. It is much lower than PvP1 when connecting from North America. I see a lot of wanting a combined mass of people but please take into account connection needs. The US servers was brought online for this reason months ago.
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Maybe true but the combats I had against many US based folks, and including a duel versus a California fellow did not show any problems related to ping or latency and usually goes totally smooth. Can't tell the difference between fighting them and the EU based folk. Social aspect always suffers with a merge. I guess PvP2 has its own community that might be shaken a bit with a eventual merge 2
Ser_Slack Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Anytime...people are waiting for it on pvp2. Tired of only 150 people on at primetime. 2
Blackjack McGee Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 I came to PVP 1 from PVP 2 and had concerns with Ping as well. I have been here with almost 2000 people playing and Ping was not a problem. With the current population Ping will not be an issue if the two servers merge. 1
UngerOverDunn Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 Blackjack have you been in 25v25? I experienced lag when connecting from Europe to pvp2 in big fights. Cannons balls didn't show up andthere was no sound, but my canons were empty after. Double clicks don't work either.

With the current population Ping will not be an issue if the two servers merge. There are a couple of things that can contribute to ping issues. When PvP1 was runn a couple thousand players on it at the same time coupled with the location I was at caused a real gerky connection and real heavy lag times. PvP2 under the smae local connect did'nt and was more fun to be on. I have since moved to a new location and the connect here is better for both servers. My concern is for those in North America and/or Eastern Asia (Western Pacific region of the world) that have a moderate network connection and can play well on the PvP2 server but have a terrible time with PvP1. I would hate to see a merge cause some people to be dis-infranchised over a consolidation. It will be what it will be.
Woody051 Posted June 2, 2016 Posted June 2, 2016 (edited) "Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp!" cries sheWith silent lips. "Give me your tired, your poor,Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,I lift my lamp beside the golden door!" Come to PVP 1!!! Edited June 2, 2016 by Woody051 1
Horror Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 Yes. I feel this would be better, especially for testing purposes with high population counts. errhm, aren't you a pirate?

One of the guys in my clan is from SA and also finds pvp1 impossible to play in and there are many many players from AUS who ive talked to over the months and they cant even play on pvp1 because boarding fights are a auto loss cuz of ping and pvp is hectic for alot of them. They say they have to fire before being in line to make up for the ping being so high and in pvp players tend to change speed and direction alot which messes them up. Maybe they are making it up i dont know.
Blackjack McGee Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 I have been in numerous PB and probably a few that were probably 25v25 (or at least close). I lowered my graphics card and everything worked fine. 1
Cpt Blackthorne Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 I have major lag connecting to PvP1. Personally, I would hate to lose the PvP2 server and would prefer it's populace to grow. And I'm trying to accomplish this by letting ppl know of the PvP2 specific forum I made for everyone on this server... http://napvp2.lefora.com/ Each nation has it's own board, other boards set up for blogs and vlogs, even a Bounty Board. Hope y'all check it out and let me know what you think.
HarryButpain Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 (edited) I think before we shut it down we should make a vote.. Devs should let everyone know of this vote by adding a msg to the server selection screen. I would hate myself if I forced someone into a situation where he couldnt enjoy his game anymore just because I wanna have more enemies to fight on pvp1 : / Edited June 3, 2016 by BACk ALLEY ShENANiGANS

If its in the forums it will not represent the real opionions only the forum users opinion. I personally dont know anyone on my server who wants a merge a.d its been taljed about before.

I would hate myself if I forced someone into a situation where he couldnt enjoy his game anymore just because I wanna have more enemies to fight on pvp1 : / I don't think you can take a vote for this sort of thing. Inevitably some players will vote not to merge. So then all the voting "to merge" players become the "bad guys". Part of the burden of being in control is being the one to make the tough choices and occasionally be the "bad guy". That role and responsibility belongs to the devs. If they feel game development requires such a move then they need to just declare it and move forward. Let the chips fall as they may. Kind of like a marine Lt. ordering his squad to charge a machine gun nest. It's just not the sort of thing you put up for a vote before hand.
Jean LaPointe Posted June 3, 2016 Posted June 3, 2016 What if PvP1 was merged with PvP2 insted? What would the difference be? Would a move like this be for the benefit of all?

We just quit and move on toba better game or spend more time with the family.

Ok how's this for you then. I have about 70 employees at the moment. We have to decide on two different start times. Either way someone's going to lose. Some with children to take to school may choose to leave to find another job. If I put it to a vote then those forced into a bad situation hold it against their coworkers and the working relationship goes south. But if I make the call, I'm the bad guy and they can at least still work with each other. We may not be talking soldiers and jobs. But team sports, which is what NA is even if a digital game, is still the same. The team still has to be able to play along side each other. So the coach makes the tough calls. No matter how such a merge vote goes someone is going to lose. Devs need to make that call.

No matter how such a merge vote goes someone is going to lose. Devs need to make that call. Its not a job or an enlistment promise. Youre suggesting that someone has to lose. How so ? Seems nobody has to lose or charge a hill and die or quit thier job. Thise who want to play on pvp1 do so, those that prefere an american crowd or server choose pvp2. Seems simple to me and they could do this pretty easy with not much change. The people who all wanted to leave did so to another server or quit and its not like there is some huge punishment for swapping servers or playing on both so why do some insist on forcing those players who choose pvp2 to be merged into a situation they dont have to be? What because of population? The game is bleeding players for a reason and having the choice of servers isnt that reason. Also if ( IF) this game ever goes live and does get more players they will need another server anyways so just leave it alone. Better yet make pvp2 the hardcore server for those who like a more simulation style game who dont mind the speed of the game and make pvp1 the free for all teleport instaclick battle server and let people choose. Like i said you are acting like there is no choice but to make someone mad. Just leave it be and people can make thier own choice.
Æthlstan Posted June 6, 2016 Posted June 6, 2016 (edited) A ton of people arent playing until PvP2 is merged with PvP1. A huge segment of PvP2 that still plays now plays on pvp1 Edited June 6, 2016 by Æthlstan 3
