Baron Von WeisenCracker Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 yep .. just like it sounds ... British have been treated way too Care-bearish. They have 2 freeports in the region, Ile-a-Veche and Cayman Bracs .. but nothing, NO WHERE near their own capital. Please change that. For US players (in particular) , every player (especially starting out) has to transit past Sunbury (where British players sit on the pier and gank seals and new comers without fear of being attacked) in order to expand or get to the combat areas (PB's). British don't have anything CLOSE to that. The nearest free ports are across a vast open water trek, and even those are pretty much isolated. So I simply ask that one of those ports near their Capital be changed to a Free port. So we all can harass the Crap out of them, like they so dutifully do to others! It's only fair, right? I mean otherwise they get a free harassment-free zone that is conducive to training up newcomers without fear of reprisal or threat of being GANKED near their own capital. I am all for "doing to others what they do to me" ... no sweat! Bringing it to their backyard -- soon!, -Yank 2

It'S not like jamaica was impossible to take over.. well, sorry I am a relative new-comer here -- and last I checked the DANES are no where near them --- but at present .. anyone who enters this Game-development can easily see that they are extremely isolated and insulated. A relative hard nut to crack, type set-up. Given that, and most folks are "Playing" this game.. not "testing" it ... thereby you have biased takes on everything to ensure that their Nations reigns supreme. I am just trying to LEVEL the field as it is. Which is why the example, of the US having to transit by a Freeport--- period, to get anywhere from the Capital, once you start in the game. Brits don't even have to come close to one -respectively. The Program (no longer a game) at this point has been has been established -- the favoritism established by the players, shows in how dominant one faction is over another, and the ridiculousness in trying to change any aspect of it. At this point you might as well WIPE the whole damm game, and start afresh. As it is, its relatively futile to try to PLAY it, from any another nation than those already hard established! (US, Danes, GB, Pirates) -- this game is basically dying a not-so SLOW death .. which is actually increasing in its rate of mortality. Edited May 26, 2016 by yankyaeger

Yes, the wipes will happen and happened before and yes, there're too many which use exploits instead of reporting them.. The nature of PvP sadly supports such thinking.. The devs will implement diplomacy soon which will make it hopefully easier for the US, for example, to get back in shape again. 1
Ronald Speirs Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 (edited) Yanky what server are you on? Considering Jamacia being smack bang in the middle of the map it can be attacked from all sides and is always in the dangerzone. Edited May 26, 2016 by Ronald Speirs 1
Chimera Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 If you Want to argue for a safe zone for newbies I'm all for that. Arguing for a ganking port on Jamaica for fairness is seriously wrong.... 1
Smithy Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 disable attacks on players under a certain rank but allow them to still launch a pvp attack if they want. problem solved
Haratik Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 disable attacks on players under a certain rank but allow them to still launch a pvp attack if they want. problem solved please no 1
Smithy Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 why would you want to attack some r1 or 2 in a basic cutter who doesnt know his arse from his elbow yet anyway? :3
Chijohnaok Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 why would you want to attack some r1 or 2 in a basic cutter who doesnt know his arse from his elbow yet anyway? :3 Because then a player of another nation (pirate for example) creates an Alt character and uses that non-gankable Alt to transport valuable things like High Grade Notes. A non-gankable character is a potential loophole/exploit that some would use to their advantage. They already use those sort of Alts to monitor other country's national chat. 1
Red Jack Walker Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Really dunno from where all this thing comes, but as Ronald said, Jamaica is always under attack by many gankers from almost all the Nations featured in Naval Action (from Spain to France, from Danes to Pirates) so please try to be more "well-informed" next time you start a thread ! 1
Guest Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 You'd probably have an easier time getting a freeport removed near the US capital - after all the French had Camp du Roy changed in favor of themselves.

I am not seeing it on PVP2 ... Its just my observation .... just saying. There is no way to ascertain how the map looks prior to joining a side - when you purchase the game. None. Its a best guess sort of thing. Pray tell you buy this item, without any fore-knowledge of the current status of the map, and choose...lets say French ... Complete waste of money- until the massive reset. Lets not even mention the Spanish who are reduced so far away from their Capital, that a new player is pretty much screwed from the get-go, as well. I am not trying to usurp any nation, really ... just making a suggestion for a fairer set up. It just looks biased - from my perspective. So, anyhow, I just want to be able to do exactly what is being done to the US at present. Where we have a Freeport (on the same coast) as our capital. Just 3 ports down. Every US player (new or otherwise) at one point has to pass by that port. Its kind of hard to circumvent. And this morning... Seal clubbers emerged with 3rd rates and Boarding Rigged Trincs ...to combat basic cutters and brigs! All the while sitting on the edge of the pier to dash inside if it even remotely looks like they will be attacked .... wow, impressive ... NOT! This game is so broken it aint funny. Keep doing it.. pretty soon, there will be 10 players ... its already down from 200+ to under 150 daily. So why don't the BRITS have something just as hazardous? psst, capturing a port nearby (PR), doesn't count - because free ports (like Sunbury) cant be capped---ever! and again -- Ile-a-Veche and Cayman Brac are so far removed (water gap) from PR that it is hardly noticeable that they are even there. Easily circumvented.

Red, Lets keep this to PVP2 .. that said.. I bought this game without any fore-knowledge of current map status or operations. I joined a side. (USA) .. and lets go from there. I start out in my basic cutter, and cant get 3 ports without some established enemy OP player in an OP RIGGED ship, cutting my ship down and out every time I try to get past him .. because I have NO alternative other than going way out to sea on a map I have no reference in navigating on. I cant get any XP, due to I cant get any GOLD, to buy better ships, because I cant get blanking anywhere other than 2 ports from my current location. Missions? .. don't start .. I got jumped 3 times while coming out of my missions by some blanking ganker, near my capital. So yeah -- it soils my cereal to no end that this fertilizer is allowed. But Brits have NOTHING close to this on the PVP2 server to worry about. They have the Pirates so far up their butts in non-hostilities and vice versa .. they might as well be sharing lube. edited to soothe the translation .... @ Back Alley ... went and checked that out... not a bad concept ... higher operating cost for expanding out too much. Another concept of if you got no one left to fight.. the army tends to turn on itself! Edited May 26, 2016 by yankyaeger
xAzDKr Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 so the fact that Britain is in the middle of the map and completely surrounded isn't bad enough?
PL_Harpoon Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 I fail to see how putting a free port on Jamaica would help with ganking fleets close to US (or any other) capital.
Baron Von WeisenCracker Posted May 26, 2016 Author Posted May 26, 2016 If you Want to argue for a safe zone for newbies I'm all for that. Arguing for a ganking port on Jamaica for fairness is seriously wrong.... or remove Sunbury as a free-port. -- I am not resulting to that one yet ... But if I have to constantly pass by that port (necessary) then there should be something of equal consequence near every nations capital - in a likewise manner. also, per this morning bigger ships are now starting to emerge ... 3rd Rates, St Pavels .. this is BS! ... evidently they are using the teleportation of ships by capping smaller ones and sending them there. Then teleporting themselves to the port and set sail in it. If you are that deep in enemy waters, you should be restricted to the type of ship (4th rate or less) you can TELEPORT to that location. The crap is just getting out of hand, in its exploitation.
Baron Von WeisenCracker Posted May 26, 2016 Author Posted May 26, 2016 I fail to see how putting a free port on Jamaica would help with ganking fleets close to US (or any other) capital. Would not so much HELP with the ganking fleets close to US .. but affords the same consequence as the US faces due to that condition as it is. Why does one nation have to have something so vulnerable, why the other gets a free pass? and it aint so "surrounded" ... its open water in nearly every direction. Surrounded by Country CONTROLLED ports. Far removed from any real threats. again -- this is the PVP2 server version.. the closest nation to the British capital are the pirates .. are they are not attacking.
OlavDeng2 Posted May 26, 2016 Posted May 26, 2016 Honestly, I think giving everyone the same problem is the wrong way to go about fixing an issue, in my opinion you dont fix a problem by giving everyone the same problem, I agree with the fairness of the situation but it would be better if there was a certain distance there had to be between a free port and the capital so that you dont have that issue. 1

I believe you meant "Don't think" or "is not" in your original statement. But noted. I have several issues with this Freeport so close to the capital. And several mechanics I hope will be addressed as a result. 1) Proximity to a foreign nations capital 2) ability to teleport large ships to a Freeport, so close to an enemies capital or in their controlled waters -- I think a Large ship would be seen for MILES coming into a port by an enemy nations vessels. Not just Appear out of the port! 3) Players ability to camp the pier without fear of being attacked, because all they have to do is re-enter port - Solution, establish a Cool-down timer to re-enter the port after X # of times within X # minutes, where player must remain (vulnerable) in OW for that duration. 4) I would like to be able to enter a port, and see who is, online or offline, in that port. I should already be able to .. their ship would be moored next to mine! - to me, for the sake of the argument -if this were plausible, if folks don't want to be known to have established ports -- don't exit game at that port.
