killing crew does not reset battle timer?

Had an encounter with a trader and got to work chipping away at this stern planking until i was able to grape shot it and with the new patch grape is viable again but I was tacking back and forth taking 10 - 15 crew on most rakes. he had about 15 crew left and all of a sudden he left battle   .

I caught back up in OW and didnt let that happen twice but just found it odd that this was the case

Heh. That little tidbit about resets is good to know.

I ran into the same situation last night vs a player trader.  I realized my grapeshot was not resetting with 35 sec left in the "escape".  And I quickly changed to ball shot.

I understand this has been fixed in the latest hotfix.
