mikawa Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 I've been watching this game for a whole while now and I've recognized that the popularity of instant small / medium battles has sunk now almost below zero mark. I guess this is the result of the good rewardings in AI fleet missions, which are undoubtedly quite funny (so please don't change them), but on the other hand I must say that instant battles are quite silly now. Click on them, see one or zero opponents and click cancel immediately. I would not like to have these instant battles given up, so you should consider making them more attractive. I propose to remove ship loss and to set both - xp and gold - to factor 0.5. I think these instant battles are perfect when you have no time to sail half an hour, but wanna gain some gold & xp in a short after-work-session; and with a few more people participating in them, they would be quite funny again. 2
jodgi Posted May 19, 2016 Posted May 19, 2016 Yup, it will be a ghost town as long as there is loss. It prolly needs to be 0 gold and xp too or it might become too popular. 2
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Make Small Battles / Large Battles equal to the Sea Trials system regarding ships. Right now it is kind of a pandora's box. 1
surfimp Posted May 20, 2016 Posted May 20, 2016 Based on how much fun I've had in the Duel Room, I agree regarding Small and Large battles: eliminate loss, and balance XP and gold earned so that there is at least some reward, but it's far less than what you'd get doing an equivalent battle in the OW. I think the original concern was around these battle rooms drawing people out of the OW, but there is enough going on in the OW now that I feel this isn't such a big problem anymore. I feel that removing loss would give something fun for more casual players to do within Naval Action, and it would certainly help people get better at gunnery and tactical maneuvering without becoming a powerleveling tool. 2
