As a player of the PvP Two USA server, I have had a lot of fun meeting new players, crafting, gathering resources, PvPing, PvEing together as a French nation.

As of recently the Danish nation have utterly destroyed the nation of France and we are now sharing the same fate as the Spanish and the Swedish. Currently, you could state 3 out of the total available nations are completely obsolete and dead and who is next, the Dutch ? Got nothing against a nation coordinating attacks to take ports, this is certainly part of the fun and struggle of PvP and port battles to a certain extent.

France, among the other 2 mentioned dead nations have only but one port, being their capital only. How is a nation that is so deprived of resources and morale ever supposed to realistically even have the possibility to be able to revive some of our nations spirits by taking ports ?

It has been 1 month now where I have not taken part in a single battle, as I will be almost certainly ganked by the Danish fleets. There are no concessions granted in the form of resource bonuses to a dead nations "capital" which should be implemented to at least enable some players that are desperate to fight back and to actually stand a chance to gather resources to craft ships without having to travel to free ports all over the map.

By resources bonuses, I mean that as an incentive to prevent a nation from scattering to other nations or servers, it should be easier as a consequence to buy resources at the capital that would otherwise not be there in the first place. At least until a nation has attempted to recapture a certain number of ports of which this concession will cease to be in effect.

I speak on behalf of those nations of France, Spain and the Swedish who would understand the situation and they would most certainly agree with me on this.

There must be a better way than to simply "Switch" nations or switch servers.

People's thoughts on this would be appreciated, as i'm quite lost on what to do at this point. I have ever only logged on to naval action for 5 minutes per day crafting which is sad to me, really...

Thank you,

Perhaps a system of "letters of marque" that entices players from other nations to fight for menaced ones by rewarding actions against its enemies? (and yes it is a proposition from myself in a privateer topic ;) )

It even could be evolved into a loyalty system that allows change nation after long "attunement" period

Problem with PvP2 USA, is that the playerbase is too small to support a proper balance, could be fixed with a merge tbf.

Yeah but it seems like it will take too long ? There hasn't been a set date and what am I to do till that mystery date ? Certainly not going to move nation or servers anytime soon...

Yes, the uncertainty of changes - due to either the devs not knowing themselves, or else not feeling it's important enough to share a target date - makes it much more difficult.  If we could establish a timeline then we could make solid plans and adjust in an easier fashion.

The "fight club", under a separate thread, is one attempt at providing some balance between now and the undefined "then".

Jean V., since you and I are in the same clan I certainly understand this frustration.  Since there are probably those that will read and say too bad Frenchies suck it up, my preemptive response is this: I have been sailing thru the now-Danish waters quite a bit since the massacre, at different times of day and night, to see who's out there, and it appears that this wipe out of ports was only to make a point, since during that time I haven't found, chased, been chased, ran away from, or spied out more than 1 Dane in all those times out.  They were just there to conquer and leave.  That emphasizes (in my opinion) a game mechanic problem, specifically related to port conquest.  If that were fixed, then none of this imbalance would have occurred.  Without that problem, I can assure you we already had a player base that was working together, fighting where we could, crafting resourcefully, and could've made a stand or at least exist (<--- although small, yes we had one even without the GB players that switched to French).  The only other way to exist now is through diplomacy, not yet implementd as a tool in the game.  And even with that we still need a port conquering "fix".

As has been stated in other threads on this forum, devs, it would be helpful to have some communication here about the planned changes, like a timeline for instance even if crude, so we can react.  Otherwise as has also been stated, you're losing your alpha player base.

Edit:  I see that right at the same time I made this response post, that the new game patch summary scheduled for tomorrow 5/19 was also posted (within a few minutes of each other).  In that post it is stated that the next content patch after this will be in about a month.  Is there anyone reading this thread that can tell us if that month-away future content patch will include any of the port resets or fixes?  Or if perhaps the PVP2 to 1 merge will happen prior to that?  Info is helpful as part of us trying to establish temporary goals for the PVP2 players, especially Spain, France, and Sweden.
