A few questions before I buy

A friend and I always play MP cooperatively against the computer in Scourge of War: Gettysburg.  Will we be able to do the same with Ultimate General?  

 

Can we only play MP on Steam, or can we connect directly using an IP address?

Hello, yes, you can play Multiplayer with your friend. You can invite each other using your Steam accounts.

Thanks for your help, but can we play directly with an IP address, like we do now for Scourge of War Gettysburg?  That is, without using Steam.

You can only play via the game's multiplayer interface with auto-matchmaking or by invitation via Steam friend list.

In a not efficient way, you can create a battle and private message your friend to join at the right time this battle.
