Lost Vic due to being disconnected before maintenance

I logged into the PVE server earlier tonight. I forgot that maintenance was in about 25 minutes. I entered a rear admiral mission. One of my mates reminded me that reset was going to happen. I realized that i probably couldn't sink the santisima I was fighting in the next 20 minutes, so i attempted to flee. The 15 minutes til restart warning popped up- then I got disconnected directly after! 

I immediately tried to relog, but the server was in "maintenance" mode. I was unable to rejoin the server til almost an hour later.

I'm honestly floored.

I have always accepted the risks of running difficult missions. Losing a ship is completely reasonable, although less common on PVE. Every mission theoretically can end with losing a ship.

But this? Losing several hundred hours of work to the server itself?

A 2/5 Exceptional live oak victory with build strength and stiffness.

All gone because the server booted me BEFORE maintenance.

I don't really know what to expect. I think i may need to take a break from this game, or perhaps leave it outright. I've always accepted permadeath, in the sense of ship loss, but losing a ship to the server itself was not something I'd ever considered.

Yeah that sucks, i hate how issues like this can cost you greatly, ive lost many ships to my reginal areas poor quality internet, especially when you sink so much time into it for the server or connection issues to cost you it makes it hardly worth trying to play, my guess is they wont be able to refund you your ship and modules just like the rest of us that have had the same issues, though in saying that i would like to see a fix for PvE issues like this with maybe it just putting you in results screen and you still having your ship but nothing like this for PvP
