Port entry on low frame rate machines

Recently my main computer crashed and I was forced to use my laptop to play. This entailed a drop in FPS from around 70 FPS to 12 FPS in the open world. 

 

A lot of ports can be difficult to get into at any time but with the drop in FPS ports I sailed into with little problem suddenly became almost impossible to get into. I would have to track back and forth across the port entrance for a long time before being able to enter. This is not normally a problem for me but I know a lot of people who play at that type of low frame rate who probably struggle with port entry.

 

Not sure if anything can be done about this but I think port entry is overly difficult as it is.

Thank you for the feedback, Captain. Could you explain it more in deep, please - what exactly the issue about port entry on low FPS - does the entrance window not appear on low FPS when it would appear on higher FPS or ?
