Hey just went over some of the change logs.  Some of them seem interesting but not enough to warrant a full return to the game.  After my clan split half and half on pvp2 and pvp1 i lost the will to play as much.   My only question is the game well enough to come back.  Is there tons of crap talkers still in nation chat?  Are people still complaining about pirates being too op as a nation? lol    Just checking.  Also saw nation news was locked.

Nation chat (for pirates at least on PVP1) hasn't been bad in USA primetime. Global is an entirely different kettle of fish with people taking the game and comments far too seriously and personally. That being said, the area around Mortimer has turned into a hotbed of PVP which is nice. It's always good to not be far from a fight.

USA nation chat isn't that bad on PVP1. I do miss the toxicity of PVP2 USA chat in that nostalgic kind of way, but that's it.

The pirates aren't nearly as bad as they were in late March, early April.

North America playtime is pretty dead right now on both servers. I log in each night around 10pm eastern or so (to do some crafting XP) and its been under 400 each night on PVP1.

The BIG changes (and the reset) everyone is waiting for have not been put in yet.

Personally I might suggest coming in just to knock the rust off or to work on your crafting XP if you aren't at least level 35 crafting but all the old RvR problems are still in the game right now and there is little reason to come back -- certainly not for any serious RvR gameplay.

Hopefully there will be a big announcement when the changes are due. That'll be when everyone wants to come back and try the new RvR design.

Thanks guys. are they still planning on merging pvp2 into pvp1?

I don´t think so, admin posted today that they will add one new server on monday and two additional the next week.

I don´t have a link to that thread though.

I don't think a merger was ever anything other than the fevered dreams of some forum flunkies. It was never particularly realistic. It's not like this is a dying game and we need to cobble together the last surviving members. If they merged servers, reset the map and released a bunch of new RvR mechanics, we'd all be stuck in login queues for 3 hours, especially on weekends, as I bet thousands of people would at least come back to see the changes and maybe start the new map.

Global chat has never been toxic but I can only speak for pirate chan on PVP1.

Pirates were never OP, we were just very organised and worked together.  There was a collective decision among the pirate coalition to stop defending / taking ports other than the important ones in our home waters. This has resulted in us relinquishing many ports which in turn means we don't have to travel far for a fight  :D  :D

There are some new, annoying mechanics such as positional reinforcements that is sapping my motivation to play, but AFAIK they are working on a new system.

You should just jump in and see how things are for yourself.

As far as I'm aware they're still doing this, but they're announcing it for when the port reset happens. If PvP2 is as you say, then the downtime of PvP1 will actually be more lively then.
