how to download patches

just purchased Gettysburg love it seems to have huge potential,will I have the updated version,or will I have to download all of the patches,when I click on the patch link,it just takes me to the patch info,there doesent appear to be any download link,

Hi, welcome to the game. Steam automatically updates. We just announce and write info so that all of you know what we include in the patches. You can check if the game is up to date by the patch version nbr in the lower left section of the menu.

one more thing,is there a save game feature?

No changes yet to saves but there will be. Currently your game is saved when you abort the battle. Then you choose Continue in main menu to load your save.
