Eishen Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 This (or similar) subject has been discussed before as part of another topics, excuse my laziness/inhability to find an exclusive one if it already exists. In contrary to some other captains I think not showing player in port (current UI behavior), is quite good as it is, even if somewhat complicates trade/social activities it hekps protects privacity and avoid unwanted interaction. On the other hand not knowing what ships are in the port seems very strange … Even a simple list will allow intelligence gathering, and help the world seem alive. I ask for no more than any sailor would see at first gaze, Total number by type , maybe with flag (useful for free ports and soon allies too) though this last surely will bring some claims against. 7
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 I remember seeing this same idea come up in some unrelated thread if I recall, with several UI sugestions. Makes all sense given the forest of masts and hulls in a port can be seen from distance.
Galileus Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Easily and nicely introduced into officers / upgrades system as well. The better your outfit, the more detail you get.
Twig Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 Well you were not directly able to get the exactly number of ships (and kinds) inside the ports just by looking at them from distance.Would be nice if you can give not the exactly amount of ships inside the ports, but at least a clue.E.g:Which ships are in sight:Few 1rd'sLot 4rd's....But only the ships docked at the harbour (including all ships all players have parked in the port (?))And not those which are for sale. - Well actualy, maybe they should count in as they appear normaly in the port)
Jean Ribault Posted April 29, 2016 Posted April 29, 2016 More realism for seemingly little effort. I like the suggestion, and also the way it was presented here.
