PvP and PvE player removal and copy

I have an older player on the PvP server I would like to get rid of. On the PvP server I made the HUGE mistake at the beginning of my NA career of attacking a friendly so now my only good player is on the PvE server (which is down right now). Can I add the PvE player (a British Flag Captain) to the PvP server and delete the existing PvP player which is a pirate? If not; if I delete the existing PvP player will it affect my PvE player?? I'm not willing to sacrifce the present PvE player and return to zero. Could use your help with this thanks.

You can delete your Pirate on the PVP Server, it will not affect your PVE character. Your XP is tied to your steam account. When you delete your character, you will lose all of the characters belongings, but when you make a new one, your level will stay the same.

Thanks but I'm getting a player reset warning stating I will reset all characters on all servers if I create a new Captain on the PvP server only, is that accurate?

It resets your labor hours.

And resets everything (but the players rank) on the PvP server. So right now I'm at 0 cash, in a Basic Cutter as a FC... oh the humiliation.. sniff, sniff.
