Richard Dryfus Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 (edited) For all, this a great recount of the Battle of Jutland, the last Major Fleet engagement (Excluding the hunt and sinking of the Bismarck) that included Battleships fighting Battleships. I know its not an Age of Sail time frame, but History should never be forgot, and this video is too good to pass up. Upvote if you like! Edited April 20, 2016 by Edge_of_Insanity 8
Wilson09 Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 (edited) Don´t like it. The Tavern is a subforum of Naval Action: Age of Sail Historical Discussions. May I post something related to boardgames covering AGE of SAILS, fine. But, if this is open to EVERYTHING one likes, I might open a thread on WARHAMMER GAMES. I heavily protest against any content on warfare, which goes beyond the age of sails (like WW1 or WW2) Go and sign up for HEARTS of IRON 4, if you want to play fleets made out of iron and not wood. --------- --------- Okay, calmed down... If you are interested in this period, I recommend the "Great War" channel, here is a link....enough material which does not need to be discussed here... Edited April 20, 2016 by Wilson09 1
Pagan Pete Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Wilson's narrow, singleminded, viewpoint… is correct.
admin Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 we approve all posts about naval warfare in the tavern! 3
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 Oh oh, as a carrier fan this is opening the pandora box The quality of the OP video is top. Would love to find a good documentary about the Revolutionary/Independence War privateers. Nudge if anyone has a hint. 1

Gardener Steve Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Yes it was 1917 as its the anniversary soon. My wife works as a historian for the Royal Navy and is one of the experts in Jutland. She has just finished a small book on the battle which is to be sold by the Navy. Here is a link for you all to read for free if you're interested. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1rFNhDdtos6a1l6SWl1akg2M0k/view?pref=2&pli=1
