This is my 1st post on these Forums, I'm speaking For Myself and my family members who play this game  we all have our own accounts.  The patches have brought about some good improvements while at the same time Destroyed the game.  At least for us On the PVE server.

Allow me to elaborate.

Before the 9.7 patch.  The incentive to engage in a battle was the reward of Possibly Capturing A ship and now that is gone and there is no more reason to fight. Creating an almost lethargic approach to playing.

This has shifted the focus of the game entirely to one of crafting as the only option left for forward play.  But that Is Hampered by the labor hours Cap, And the fact of the matter is, there's just not enough labor hours to gather resources refine those resources into materials and then Manufacture or build ships.  The only option is to not play at all in order to build up resource hours.

Whatever your intentions were.  They have had the opposite effect.  Instead of players wanting to spend more time.  We now spend less and less time playing and more time looking at what ships are for sale, which are desperately few and far between.  The game is not fun anymore.  It's just an endless grind As there is no reward for the risk of battle.

Now Add in the fact that you have allowed players to take missions above their grade hence increasing the risk exponentially and there is no justification because without the ability to capture an enemy ship.  There is no Future  and PVE has basically become a dead-end Server mechanic Almost forcing people to go to PVP, which is not what we paid for.  We have found ourselves going from playing hundreds of hours prior to the patch To almost nothing.  Post-patch.  And stay logged on, only to monitor the selling block, I fear a lot of other players may be having the same situation.  It's fairly easy to generate revenue In game but that's it.  There's no forward Game progression Beyond just buying and selling goods and sailing for endless hours (In real-time) to deliver those goods.

So, my suggestion is to please bring back ship capturing or increase The labor Hours allotments For crafters.

Have been away a few weeks . I come back and the game is destroyed for me because we cant capture any npc warships anymore . Which is  what this kind of game is about imo.

Bot capture is in discussion here : http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/13233-ai-shootingdamageleaks-feedback-moderated/

4. NPC ship capture.

ship capture we are not sure, but we know that many crafters are happy now, despite the fact that all ships up to constitution are now available in NPC stores.

Maybe a good way of dealing with both the cpatured AI changes and the economic changes could be this:

Make AI ships "partly capturable", i.e. if you capture an AI ship you get a relatively large percentage of the materials involved, say 20%-40%, i.e. significantly more than when we use the "breaking up" of a ship right now. This will solve the labour hours shortage and increase the "usefullness" of AI captures to bein more than a money generator.

... you can still capture Player-Ships I guess ;)  ... but I know, this is no solution for PVE servers.

I think there should be a possibility in game to capture AI-Ships ... but it should be difficult and they shouldn't be not so good as crafted ships and (in future) more expensive in maint costs.

For the PVE servers I don't see why you shouldn't be able to capture ships....this really is the pinnacle of combat for them. On the PvP server I really didn't mind it for ships under 3rd rate. A 1 dura ship with no mods in OW combat is at a definite disadvantage against a crafted ship with mods. The only exception is when you outnumber your opponent by a 3 to 1 margin...however, that is a different topic that hopefully is partially addressed in the upcoming ROE. Capped 3rd rates and above were more of an issue with the role they played in PB's and for that reason I would still prefer for them to be uncapturable.

I agree.

I do not agree.

I am finding a paucity of mast hits, that is, ships are not being dismasted any longer. Is that the case?

No- partook in a battle where we demasted a player's third rate a few days ago, and in one of the following engagements, one of our trincos was demasted. Seems to be working fine, mostly- except that the masts do seem a touch tougher than prior to the patch.

My feedback In general. I'm enjoying the game intensely ATM although I only capture traders so I can't comment on the fighting ship capture aspect. I find the missions much better balanced and I am back to taking on missions one below my current rank quite happily. The AI could do with a fraction more tactical smarts but that's about it. Damage inflicted and received seems realistic. Trading is good. Crafting is good. I know the hours available are limited but I find it puts at least minimal realism into the time taken to build larger ships. It wasn't as though shipyards at any time could simply pop out an unending supply of first rates, or third rates, or any class really.

FYI I am sailing a trincomalee as captain usually in master and commander missions.

Absolutely love the work you have put into the open world. It is gorgeously beautiful. Love the land inclusion in missions. I like the extra time to prepare in battle.

Thank you for the changes you have made in the PVE arena.

I have an Core I7, 32 Gig of RAM with a Windforce GTX980 G1 Gaming graphics card which handles the game very well with everything maxed except for Anti aliasing. Anti Aliasing bogs even that system down. . On the other hand my Alienware laptop Mx17 with a Core I7 and GTX560 Graphics card really struggles even on the lowest graphics settings.

CPU will not be the Bottleneck, more likely the GPU.

Got a Oc´d 760 + i5 3570k on base clock  and just fine on everything on max except terrain on high and AA.

Thanks Bulwyf. I will have to save my Spanish doubloons and buy an i7. :)

You could save the extra cash and buy an i5 if you want to upgrade the processor.

That's ridiculous. Go cap player ships, try a challenge for once.

Yeh lol , going out solo to capture ships is like offering your own ship to gank squads . If there was an EU pve server id be playing on it already .

And dont tell me to join the American PVE server which has no people playing on it at all during our playtime hours . If i dont like pvp it doesnt mean i dont like to play with other people . .       If thats too hard to imagine i feel sorry for you.

Current PvE server is not an "American" one.

It is Naval Action PvE server. The only one. America is just its location. No ping effect for European players.

I'd really be amazed if its very label "PvE One USA" actually prevented European players from playing on  it !

There is a ping difference over here , 30 ms vs 100 ms . And why label it USA if you want european people to join ? Anytime i check the server its got a "Low" population.
