Luc Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 (edited) Hello, the carribean sea is very empty and the AI ships are only travelling near to land. Maybe some of them should travel across the sea! It not the middle age. Ships in that time are at least able to cross the atlantic! Edited April 20, 2016 by Luc
Eishen Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 coastal traffic is the way things ARE made in the sea mate... even today, check yourself https://www.marinetraffic.com/es/ais/home/centerx:-82/centery:20/zoom:6 in game there are ships not coasting (found quite a bunch of times) but they are scarciests, as it should be.

LeBoiteux Posted April 20, 2016 Posted April 20, 2016 they travelled there before but it was greatly reducing the ability to find them - now they sail closer to land so you can find your enemies easier. But it was also a way to find one's way when we were lost : if you saw a AI trader of your Nation coming from/to where you approximatively thought the port you were looking for was, you could find your way back ; even follow the trader. A more immersive way than TP. Moreover, when you came across a AI enemy, it added an random event during the travel. Not a bad thing. Especially if someday AI were to tag players (agressive)... Is there a (technical) limit of the number of bots in OW ?
Luc Posted April 20, 2016 Author Posted April 20, 2016 they travelled there before but it was greatly reducing the ability to find them - now they sail closer to land so you can find your enemies easier. I see. Thats fine. But maybe some little number of ships can sail between far away regional Capitals.
