Capt Hornblower Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 just how is advancing to another ship done? are they acquired by crafting only, or is it similar to Armor Warfare, where XP/credits are "spent"? found out about NA on the AW forum
Bommel Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Ships up to 4th rate are npc seeded. All ships (except Basic Cutter - Starter Ship) can be crafted by players in higher quality then the NPC seeded ones. Each ship "requires" a certain amount of crew, and the amount of men/crew you can command is tied to your rank. When you rank up you get more crew which allows you to use bigger ships with full crew (which makes them efficient), you are allowed to use any ship you even at Rank 1 but you will have a huge drawback, meaning every action like turning yards/raising sails or reloading your guns will take A LOT longer. So higher rank = more crew. You gain xp and gold for doing damage, killing ships or fullfilling Missions.
Jeheil Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 There is an excellent Naval Action Crafting website that shows all the crafting progression and rank progression (as well as many other really useful info) : http://www.navalactioncraft.com/ 1
