Juan Alfonso Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 Hello Chaps; As a former Admiral of Spain, and now a pirate I am looking to gain information regarding the current population dispersion on PvP2, as I seek to change nations given my dissatisfaction with the state of the pirates. Therefore any information that could help myself and indeed others make choices regarding which nations to join would be much appreciated, as at the moment I yearn to return to Spain, however other nations are definitely on the cards if no one sails her waters. Regards, El Comisario Juan Alfonso de Castella, Former Vicealmirante of the Legion del Mar Current officer of AUSNZ
Diggled Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 may as well reroll to PVP1 already, as they're gunna get merged. Most nations will give or loan you a captured ship so you can get on your feet, plus now you can pick mission of any level
Rebel Witch Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 (edited) There is nothing wrong with pvp2 server we are having a lot of fun here. if people want to go to pvp1 let them choose, let those who want to stay on a nice calm smaller server choose too. eventually as it stands this game will have this population. the problem is not in the population it is that players cannot form their own nations to fight each other and fight over ports they control instead of holding them for a red or blue king, they are forced into picked/historical nations and that will always fail. not sure why the devs didnt learn that in potbs Edited April 16, 2016 by Rebel Witch

It just depends on how much action you want and how many other players. Pvp1 has enough players that many things are done on a grand scale. Pvp2 is a little more personal and smaller. Currently pvp1 the powerhouse nations are pirates, Danes and Brits. France probably could be a contender too but they have a lot of pacifists.Reb W - I like that player formed nation idea. If this game was played on some mythical world instead of the historical carribean that idea might get more support. I know i would go for it. Edited April 16, 2016 by Bach

Neverdead Ned Posted April 16, 2016 Posted April 16, 2016 All the whiners, complainers, and people who who couldn't handle not controlling what their nation's were doing left PvP2. It's better without them. Our population is now concentrated into a smaller area (no one wants to sail for hours without finding anyone else). Those who want PvP, can find it in abundance on PvP2. Our fights are more enjoyable and personal now. I have nothing but respect for the people who stuck it out from other nations in PvP2. In a way the population of the whole PvP2 server has become a community/nation unto itself. I am happy to see new people but don't look forward to the merge. If you want to play with a bunch of people who need instant gratification, go to PvP1 and if you want to play with adults who have learned to cope, come to PvP2. 3
Juan Alfonso Posted April 17, 2016 Author Posted April 17, 2016 Given that the majority of people are indeed within US & Great Britain on pvp2, I think going GB will be my option. Lets keep this on topic chaps, we don't want a 'which server's better' war Regards, Juan.
Macjimm Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 I use both pvp1 and pvp2. I like having the choice. Don't really understand the obsession with removing the choice. When I fancy a lower population I can use PVP 2. If we we were all forced into one server it would mean waiting for the hours when the server population declined. Most of the time the restriction would just be an inconvenience. Also if we were crammed into a single server it may mean having to wait when the server is full. It costs nothing to try all 3 PVP servers. Choice is a good thing.
jw62 Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 So I want to set up on PVP2. What nations are worth while. I want access to materials, a decent ship market, and a mix of battles and voyages with merchant prizes. What Nations are crowded, empty, etc? Any suggestions?
Neverdead Ned Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 Great Britain, the US, or the Pirates, are the most active nations on PvP2. There is also a small Danish population which seems to be making a small comeback as of late. The advantage to being GB is that it is centrally located with an abundance of nearby resources and pvp usually finds a way of happening near GB water. The advantage of the US is a very active group of pvpr's. I honestly don't have a clue on what keeps the Pirates happy but there seems to be a dedicated community of local pirates who like to make your average GB player keep looking over his/her shoulders.
Jean Ribault Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 France is also experiencing a resurgence after an exodus to PVP1. If you want a friendly community like stated above PVP2 is good, if you want more of a challenge choose a smaller nation. But it's an alpha product ATM so just join in somewhere, learn the game and have fun!
