Atomic Moose Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 (edited) i know we are testing your game but maybe open a test server to test your patches with as most people dont read the forums and just see all the chat about how everything is broken and then they just leave and may not come back this games is losing players and i hate to see that a test server even if you have one in russia i think would help you control patchs so things dont happen like with this patch the leak problem would have been found no trade ships would have been found could have tested the 1.5 br for pvp could have been tested and tweeked maybe i know the admin thinks that this is just a big test and maybe i agree or i dont doesnt matter if people leave the game and dont come back i mean what can it hurt to try a test server i would be more than willing to help if need be i just want to make this game better and stop all the people who are leaving maybe stay around Edited April 14, 2016 by Atomic Moose
Galileus Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 There are already quite a few test servers. Four of them in fact. This is a EA title, you know? 3
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 There are already quite a few test servers. Four of them in fact. .... Hard wipe every big update would be a more sensible request
Atomic Moose Posted April 14, 2016 Author Posted April 14, 2016 these servers are not test servers they are large game servers i understand this is alpha but all game companies have test servers to test before going live all these problems would have been found if all we did was test this game for 2 days hethwill you are mistake with the hardwipe there would be no one playing this game period no test servers and bugged patches like this one of the many reasons people are leaving this game in droves and most dont ever read the forums only wonder why things dont work and just leave you fan bois are not helping the game as in most game fan bois ruin the game sometime the truth is hard to swallow but it is still the truth
William the Drake Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 these servers are not test servers they are large game servers i understand this is alpha but all game companies have test servers to test before going live all these problems would have been found if all we did was test this game for 2 days That is our purpose: we are the testers, each and every one of us. We are super stress testing the servers, patches, mechanics every time we play. That's why the "Report Bug" F11 button is there; it compiles all of the data at that moment/instance and sends it to the devs. It's expected to be used. A lot. If this was a fully released game, then a Test server would make sense. But as (technically) an unreleased game, separate test servers are a bit superfluous.

Enraged Ewok Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 these servers are not test servers they are large game servers i understand this is alpha but all game companies have test servers to test before going live The test servers and "game" servers are currently one and the same, as the game is not "live" yet. We ARE the quality assurance testers.
Galileus Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 People do leave. People will leave. So what? In EA game you expect to loose quite a few people in-between bigger content patches. Nature of the beast. To try and keep them around is foolish, they will be gone anyway. The very reason for having EA is to NOT have to go through all the hoops of having hidden testing.

This is the worst attitude to have for an EA game, this game has lost almost over Half its steam population since the launch that is not something to take lightly. People leave, but why do they leave is important.
Atomic Moose Posted April 14, 2016 Author Posted April 14, 2016 (edited) we are not testers we are players testers are paid players pay do you see the difference as iron has said 75% of the people on steam have left the game as they do not want to be full time testers where do you think new people are going to come from if all people leave there are very few new players joining this game at this rate there will the 100 fan bois playing and wondering why they cant gank anyone anymore things need to be tested first why are people so adverse to a test server to help the dev most people do not care they just leave and the numbers are showing it, its the attitude of the aboves posters why this game is failing hard no matter how good it is this last patch was a disaster peroid no other way to put it, if there was a 3 days test server everyone one of these problems would have been found and who know mayb 50 will quit over and we cant lose 50 more people on these servers even on patch day at 9pm cst there was only 500 people playing this game on pvp1 and less that 900 on all server combines yea that is working just fine stop being so hard headed and help the players stay Edited April 14, 2016 by Atomic Moose
Henry d'Esterre Darby Posted April 14, 2016 Posted April 14, 2016 There is already an internal testing environment, you can easily establish that one exists from screenshots that are shown during the development process from time to time. You assume that leaks, as implemented, are the result of a bug. They are not. In fact, the current penetration and leaks are the result of fixing a bug. This game is in Early Access - says so right on the front page of Steam. It says to expect bugs, wipes, and other problems as the game is being tested. I've seen a number of trade ships in a short sail in the area in which I operate. In fact, I attacked a French AI convoy consisting of a Traders Brig, Niagara, and Snow yesterday within 6 minutes of logging in. 1.5BR is working as intended, as developed and designed. We are giving it a good workout and are here to suggest changes based on our experience. You make a lot of assumptions about what is and is not a bug, and what is and is not intended. In fact, this thread reads very much like a continued attempt to denigrate the developers, which you were cautioned not to do yesterday. Either stay, provide constructive feedback, and understand that many features and parameters will come and go, be increased and decreased, so that the right balance can be found, or take a break and come back when the game is farther along. Early Access is about testing the game. If you don't want to test, please wait until a later stage of development and then come back. 6
