Was just wondering what peoples thoughts were in the Ingermanland vs. the Constitution for missioning?

And what kind of woods and such is preffered?

I personally take quite some damage when taking a Connie out in my live oak Inger.

I find the improved accuracy quite interesting to fight against. Yourself?

I am currently not at a rank where i can reasonably well under crew either of the ships. I must say i agree with you the improved accuracy for the AI

Doing missions in the Surprise with carronades are far more dangerous now, had to flee the first few missions i went in. I was taken completely by surprise by the AI's much improved accuracy

Reload on the NPC Ingermanland's was off the charts last night.   I thought they were a pretty fun challenge. especially in Large fleets with multiples.  When they focus fired something last night it was brutal.   I'm anxious to try one myself.

If you're only doing missions then live oak is the wood type you want. The Constitution is my preferred ship but it will also be a bit more tanky than the Ingermanland.

its not just the accuracy.

They increased the penetration of all shots.  They increased leaks.

Boats melt now.

Crew dies super fast with all types of shot

Time to kill is way shorter.

Its the same in pvp.

Not sure why they altered the combat mechanics again.  IMO not a good change.

I use teak Ingermanland and I can not say a bad word about her. She is little squishy compared to the Connie and other 3rd rates, but the damage output is really nice. I think she has higher projected DPS than 3rd rate. The 32 pounders in combination with fast firing 6 pounders are really effective in fleet orders. Agility and speed is also all right, allowing the Ingermanlad to keep up with larger frigates. A 3rd rate will win 1 on 1 engagement, but for me Ingermanland is more fun to play with. And there is one more thing. Ingermanland is able to tack without managing sails with starting speed about 8knots. She is really easy to sail.

Did a Fight against a Consti and an Ingermanland in misison with my Live Oak 3rd...

Damn it, I had to retreat because the Ingermanland was MELTING my armor.

Yes, she has 32 pounders which do great damage. Much better than 24 pounders on the 3rd.

So that's why I had a feeling of Deja Vue! :P

Porpoise what is her best point - 185? and can she maintain 10-11 knots in battle easily? I have found the Ingermanland should be designated first target - get it out of the battle quickly, but have not sailed her yet.

For missions, I would pick Inger without even thinking about it.. Better turn rate + more/bigger guns and only 19% less armor/sails than Connie. Take the wind,do S-es..

But its too slow for anything else... Imo, never go for live oak/str one if your nation is ganked often. You will be so slow! Teak/str or plank/speed would be my choise. Copper/Masts/Mag access

For pvp, obv Connie.

The Ingermanland is a great support ship. Not the best boat for ganking. However, she is an excellent pvp boat, Imo. She will out-turn a coni and a trinc. Her heavy broadside makes her extremely dangerous in frigate skirmishes.

Pavel has 42 pounders, not 32:) Inger is something like... Bellona of smaller size:)
