Maybe you should challenge Vllad. See how that goes for ya?

My experience with 1v1 gladiators is that they are a mixed bag. Sure they don't panic easy but they don't all adapt or make great decisions in changing environments. Hence why most want the computer to force 1v1s so they always fight in th environ they know best. You meet some of these guys that are just taught battle sequences. If the opponent is using a halbard I push this sequence of buttons and drink that potion. If he has a sword I push this sequence of buttons and use a shield. Etc.. Etc.. Just because he fights 1v1 doesn't mean he can read a changing battlefield, spot a gank before it snares him or simply adjust to changing variables like several opponents keying on him. The best thing 1v1 fights have going for them is limited variables.

I really don't care but if he feels the need to prove something then he can speak for himself and I am down for it for sure lol

Then you've had some strange impressions from god knows what swordfighting games, should I judge all RvR people by 6vs1 gankers too because they want it all open so they can always fight in environment they know best - gank? A solo player worth it's salt in this game knows the nature of open world and how to read the situations and adapt because these are the basics for his own survival, otherwise he would get wrecked by ganks all the time.

Good point. Maybe everyone I fight sucks. The good news is everyone else can fight these guys who suck as well. Thank you for proving my entire point. You can fight in this game when the odds are against you because sometimes people just suck. You never know that if you turn tail and run the wrong way.

Then this must be the difference between us, you get your kicks from farming clueless gankers while I'd rather fight against someone who can at least defend themselves but it's interesting because I was thinking like you guys when I started OW yet I still want OW to remain without restrictions even if I'd only solo.

I would like the game to be harder imo such as

All ships have one durability.

Any ship crossing the battle path can join.

In order to cap a ai or player ship, you sacrifice a portion of your crew to sail her back to port.

Crew Morale and mutiny.

Hiring crew and keeping there numbers up.

Officers who can be sent to command a ship, however a player can command so many ships.

Officers and crew have different nationality's from where you recruited them, thus adding to how they see you as a captain.

total freelancer experience

Battles in storms

Storm damage

The Kraken

A tavern

Rum

whiskey

(already been hinted that offciers with different skills maybe a thing)

Shallow, medium, and deep ports. With the restriction going down to shallow ports, meaning a brig can enter all battles, a frigate can enter only medium and deep, 3rds and above can only enter deep.

Run aground.

Exp for raiding ai and player traders.

map ai from warband

brig with bow chasers(brigantine?)

Diseased ports/crew/ships

spyglass

Flags on open world for ships

Ability to remove your national flag and put up another.

More merchants and troop ships to take ports faster during a siege.

swivels

marines using muskets during naval battle

fire ships

Merchants travelling in convoys(lone ships all the way up to a rare treasure fleet)

after ai is fixed, give the ai the ability to switch between ball, chain, and grape.

distract you enough?

Also balanced pvp is for those rooms at port. Not open world, don't bring that here in no man's land. All rules go out the window on the open seas. This is sandbox, not matchmaker.

I am against all limitations regarding rules of engagement. For me just remove post battle screen camping and I will be happy.

This game is based on cooperation between players, like any other true MMO (SWTOR fail lol). If your nation is unable to defend home waters then it is overextended or just people do not care about gankers and deserve to be ganked.

For example a lot of pirates are comming to our home waters and operating from the port of Coquibacoa. They have some success surprising traders and missionrunners, but  everytime a strong fleet is assembled and starts to chase them. There are fails, there are successful ops on both sides and both sides are getting PVP and fun. Less limitations bring more action IMO.

Go away.

No I'm staying.

Besides when the world is against you, it makes you think. Oddly enough, it supports teamplay.

Maybe you have a premium account that puts a check mark next to everyone's name who sucks in pvp so you are able to avoid them however I don't have that for my account so I just fight everyone I find.

Excellent patch! - I love the addition of NOT having rewards for the duels so no one could exploit the occasions!  The question is - How large will the wagers get?  I remember in PotBS I won a million gold bet - will captains here be willing to make such wagers? (btw - right now I don't have a million gold) :(
