Fluffy Fishy Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 I am curious to what the community thinks is the best looking ship so far, I won't make a poll because it will be too big. I am struggling but I think currently my favourite designs are the Renommee, Ingermanland and the Victory. I would really struggle to choose which is the best out of the three of them, so if you are really fond of a ship design please tell me why you like it, or even if you think a ship is kind of ugly tell me why you don't like it too. Sorry if this has already been posted.
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Privateer, Lynx, Brig (navy) and Belle Poule / Gros Ventre. In that order. I find the extreme decorations on the Renomee outside my scope of appreciation the same way that standardized frigates for the end of the period - Trincomalee / Constitution and all similars. Ships of the Line generally, in my opinion, lack soul. They are only gun platforms. 1
Sir Robert Calder Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 My ship. In all seriousness, the Ingermanland/Bellona have stolen my heart for prettiest ships.
Migui Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 The Constitution and St. Pavel are the best looking ones in my opinion. Trinco gets closer except for the figurehead. 2
Sella Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 (edited) Renommee, Snow, Gros Ventre, Mercury Well the Renommee is the Renommee. Simply amazing in every way. The Snow is the cutest killing machine you will ever see. Edited April 5, 2016 by Sella22
Fluffy Fishy Posted April 5, 2016 Author Posted April 5, 2016 Oh yes the mercury, that is a fantastic looking ship, I'm liking the wide range of choices just in the people that have posted so far
Mrdoomed Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Whatever ship im in is the most beautiful. After all IM in it.
Anne Wildcat Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Of the very small ships, I love the red of the privateer. Comparing the snow, brig, navy brig, and Mercury, I love the Mercury for her gold trim and sails The larger ships I haven't sailed them all to compare them
Leviathan Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 I've always liked the Bellona and later the Renommee. The Essex looks very nice as well but i've yet to get my hands on one. The ingermanland really isn't my style but the model is very impressive.
Arvenski Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 La Belle Poule and Essex are definitely good-looking, but I've yet to get either of them myself. 1
OTMatt Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 Snow and Essex. I love stubby frigates and baby frigates.
SKurj. Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 the new le gros is one of the better looking ships in the game. The colours are not as 'perfect' as some of the ships which adds to its more realistic appearance. 1
KuroNyra Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 I like the Surprise, but if there is ONE ship I like, it's the Pavel, close with the Victory.
OlavDeng2 Posted April 5, 2016 Posted April 5, 2016 My personal favorite, and this will not come to you as a surprise if you have seen any of my youtube videos, is by far the Ingermanland, she fits my style perfectly imho as i am a fan of the more older styles, however in terms of frigates the Essex is in my opinion the most beautifull ship, the Gros Ventre is also beautifull but i would not list her in my top 5 i believe.
Hyperion74 Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I was just looking at pictures of the Ingermanland and it is indeed a beautiful ship. I always did like Victory. Consti is my all time favorite ship although she's a bit plain. I have changed servers and have had to sail the Mighty Yacht. I am not fond of the tubby babies, but they look really good. The gilt laurels around the gun ports look downright decadent. The cabin windows are ornate. They did a nice job on it for an early ship.
Porpoise Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 I would say Constitution if there was a proper historical paintjob on her, not this monument-like bull***. Otherwise Belle Poule is my favourite and the Gros Ventre looks also great.

By the way, how handle the Ingermanland? Apparently it has a firepower close to the 3rd rate while being more ''agile" but less resilient.
DarkspaceII Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Pavel by far, Constitution, Essex. Idk.. to me Trinc looks like a crippled shark
NekOnOkO Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 Santisima - love her colors Victory Bellona Privateer
DarkspaceII Posted April 6, 2016 Posted April 6, 2016 By the way, how handle the Ingermanland? Apparently it has a firepower close to the 3rd rate while being more ''agile" but less resilient. Skinny Connie with a crippled leg on steroids
Kyou Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 the la renommee and the Ingermanland both are pretty, haven't seen a Victory in my games yet but i'll add that one
Jan van Santen Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 (edited) LGV, (the trader Belle, as it should be named ), Belle itself, Renommee, Bellona Haven't sailed the Ingermanland yet, but it looks great on the pics. It kinda depends on the surrounding, too. Renommee at full speed, LGV when turning, Belle and Bellona when just sailing. A honorable mention goes to the Santissima for her color, which seems to say: hey, I don't care if you can see me from miles away. Come closer if you dare Edited April 9, 2016 by Jan van Santen
