surfimp Posted March 24, 2016 Posted March 24, 2016 The one thing I think the devs totally nailed is the interplay of light, water, and fog around dawn and sunset.I agree. I am a surfer and a (casual) sailor, have been all my life. They really nailed the feeling of being on the water. On topic: I would love to see all teleporting of *ships* removed, including via the "send to outpost" feature. I like the idea of using NPC crews to sail the ship through the OW, and feel like that would be a great thing to replace the current port teleport feature. As for "send to outpost", I'd like to see the option of adding the capped ship to your fleet, and then sailing back together to a nearby port. Would make things a lot more interesting, IMHO.

In fact I'd like to be able to add a trader or two to my fleet at any rank. It becomes an escort mission without having to find a 3rd party who wants to go on a long cruise. That also solves the awkward mid ocean cargo transfers. 3
Tyrant Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 Yes, pleAse get rid of or alter teleportation. Stop letting me move massive resources across the map without fear of pirates and with complete impunity. It's making the game lack a huge aspect of this time period. Piracy of merchant vessels. 1
Porpoise Posted March 26, 2016 Posted March 26, 2016 You forget that captured ships were not towed, but a skeleton crew was assigned to them and she was sent to nearest friendly harbor on her own. Towing is silly. 1
Heibges Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 (edited) I think once they add Officers I should be able to assign one and a few crew to take her to the port of my choice. Like in Horation Horblower. Basically it would be like the companion missions in STO & SWTOR. Edited March 27, 2016 by Heibges
Whistleblower Posted March 27, 2016 Posted March 27, 2016 Personally i believe if you capture a ship and send to outpost then you should get a crew penalty which lasts as long as the OW travel it would take for the ship to reach the port you sent it too. This would simulate you providing a skeleton crew to the captured ship, also the bigger the ship the more crew needed to return it to port. 1

Yea, I would also like to see that you have to send a certain part of your own Crew to the captured ship to be sailed to any outpost.
