Does dismasting a vessel give bonus experience?

It counts as damage, so you earn XP. No bonus that I know of,

A bonus would be nice, perhaps it could go along with the XP that ships grant for damaging, with 6-7th rates giving some XP, 4-5th giving a decent amount, and 1st-3rd giving a good amount. Not quite an assist level bonus, but a little bit of recognition for your painstaking efforts would be nice.

So does sinking a vessel count as the max XP for damage you can get? Or do you have to pound the crap out of it, hoping it doesn't sink too fast to get more XP?

Damage all sides and kill the crew plus sink the ship.
