Connecting to the system

Hi,

 

I've just upgraded from Windows 8 tot Windows 8.1, and suddenly i can't enter the game-world anymore.

I can start the game just fine, i can select a server too.

But when it says "Connecting to the system", it just keeps counting up to 10 before giving me an error like "Login Error: Unknown".

 

Do you have any idea what has caused this and how to resolve it?

I'm impressed that you got windows 8 to work at all, try restarting PC, after that if your issue persists, re-installing Steam.

Captain, also check the workaround for connection issues:

 

Please check that router/software is not blocking ports 7770, 8089, 5672, 5222, 8080, 21020-21036, 7401-7600 for the game, also turn off all programs which use internet heavily (like torrent programs, netflix clients), disable antivirus, turn off k9 web protection filter or similar to that filters, also, you can try to put your router into DMZ mode.
If this won't help, please send report through Steam Launch option "Report Connection Test" and post report name here (it will look like NAS-XXXX)

The problem has resolved itself after i decided to pull the power cable from my modem, and have the thing reboot.

After the reboot, everything worked fine again.
