I very seldom fight 1 vs 1 in pvp.

I very much miss 1 vs 1 fights. I think i have had not more than perhaps 4-5-6 equal 1 vs 1 fights in the 300-400+ hours i have played since release in january. And most of them far a way from home in the waters of Texas.

IS it me having bad luck? I often sail in enemy waters (brittish at the moment). I love portbattles. I fight in screening fleets. I patrol the frontlines alone and in group. I am an action clanmember seeking pvp.

But i seldom, almost never, fight 1 vs 1 pvp with equal ships. And if i try it always ends up 1 vs 6 or 6 vs 6 or something.

Perhaps i should buy a snow again and move out to some desolate place in game where other single Players meet?

Thats what iv done and other few friends of mine. ( I mean moved to free towns in the middle of no where)

But its still hard to find 2v2 or 1v1 where both sides would be willing to fight. Its either you chasing them or after 30-40 min of chasing they surrendering.

Looks like many captains still thinks that if you loose a ship you will loose everything in game :). Many fights now i simply have to commit 1v3 and more.

I still hope that BR balance will be implemented and you will get at least 1v2 .

That is because there is very little pvp promoted, it is gank and hide from gank. 70% (guessing at that number) of pvp players are actually actively NOT looking for pvp and are playing pve on the pvp server because it is easier to pretend they pvp than put up with the slander flung at anyone content to pve. Hard core pvp players all go on about how to promote pvp, when the truth is most (except for them) don't seem to want it as it is seldom fun for both sides as it stands in game at present (excepting for large port battles that fill up and become what sea trials once was)

The concentrated pvp along boundries is the same 30% pvp orientated player base that has existed all the way through from sea trials, which WAS pvp and everyone loved it as that. The game seems to be trying to promote PVP over the AI interaction by limiting ai fleets and making OW a very very boring place UNLESS you pvp at the border areas, yet i do believe most players are going to quit through bordom before they go that pvp route, as they just don't seem to want it. They are happy plodding around in 1's and 2,s playing pve. This is not knocking any play style at all, just  observing the game for over a year people would be happy to pvp but most deffinately do not enjoy being ganked and are there fore avoiding all pvp type interactions.

Everytime i have engaged a single player as a single player he/she/it has run from start, and has returned with 2 or 3 friends, i will then tag one of them and get all 3, then they will fight me, but 1v1 not one person has gone for it to date since EA. I now am no longer looking for pvp as it does not exist in this game as is.

25v25 port battles is pvp, anything else is gankers action.

would be good to see a ranked fights version of small/big battle & an additional 1v1 & 2v2 format.

say 3 battles per day max in ranked battles  and have a win/loss tally for each week/month and give a 1 million gold prize.   Call it the nation challenge and have the top of each nation have a honour rank tagged on... like fasti the wicked or something

would provide a daily login incentive as well as a wayto get people involved who cant spend a few hours every day but can spent 30 mins

Yeah. Instead of "equal" I should have written "somewhat equal". The last time I can remember was when I was in a surprise and met a Niagara. So entirely equal are not these games. And most all other attempts are boring. People try to escape.

I love this game but I very much miss 1 vs 1 fights.

Man I miss 1v1 too so much, that sometimes i even ask in global chat ;/ 339 hours up to now and only 2 days ago i had a proper 1v1. US guy in a trinc. He was moderator, and for the first time I saw someone alone choosing not to run! It was very good battle ! I still cant remember his exact name :( Chunster or sth similar. I really hope admins do something about this. Like make it more rewarding, cause of now.. if you choose to pvp, you sometimes spend hours of searching for a good battle ;/

That was me dark :)

I have been quite fortunate I suppose. I have had a few good 1v1. The 2 min timer helps a lot for that. I have found that I sometime start a 1v1 and someone else joins, but I have also found that many people who join are just checking things out and if asked they will allow a 1v1 to continue without interfering...sometimes :)

Hey man :) Nice to see you! Sorry but usually its hard to me to remember names ;/ If you give me 10 digits ..way easier o;0

Will try that, but in my experience half the guys(mostly new ones) prefer to gank and insult.. like you are their real enemy or sth.

For example, last night we had a great 11 vs 11 US guys. And at the moment we entered, some random of ours started doing so.

The sad thing is that usually our guys do it ;/

However, the game is new and probably will get better in time. More ppl will start looking for proper fights.
