Michael JD Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 My buddy who has recently has considered joining the dark side (Ie.. switched from console gaming to PC gaming) is really interested in playing naval action and is considering purchasing a computer to do so. Now I have suggested a dozen different gaming rigs he could make or even purchase. However, he is caught up in the Alienware Steam Machine bandwagon. TLDR: Will Naval Action Run on the Alienware Steam Machine with the linked specs: http://www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-steam-machine/pd?oc=dkcwa03s&model_id=alienware-steam-machine https://gyazo.com/a3a3a73cb6ee47e3deff5aa7507fa279 https://gyazo.com/d278c67254f83a8f227063bed4b9c7d3
xAzDKr Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 DANGER DO NOT PURCHASE ALIENWARE THEY ARE OVERPRICED AND UNDERPOWERED, ALL YOU ARE REALLY PAYING FOR IS THE NAME AND FLASHY LIGHTS. In all seriousness, don't buy an alienware. Best bang for your buck comes from building your own PC, the only computers I have purchased are from the brand Asus. Asus has a great "bang for your buck" price, most of them are very reliable, and their customer service is amazing. I had my hard drive on my Asus laptop fail 1 day before warranty expired (after 2+ years of constant gaming use, writing/rewriting, etc.) and they still let me ship it in and replaced the hard drive free of charge. I still have this laptop and use it while traveling but I have upgraded and built myself a desktop for daily use. I have an Asus motherboard in my desktop as well. 1

Enzo Matrix Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 Dear lord please save him from alien ware! Totally waste of money! Build your own computer for WAY less. Alienware charges huge prem just because of their brand name.
Martin Posted March 17, 2016 Posted March 17, 2016 No windows, no naval action. There is no linux support currently.
Lord Roberts Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Don't buy an Alienware, they are a rip off and you can build your own for half the price, they are also owned by Dell so that should tell you a lot.

SeaMist Posted March 19, 2016 Posted March 19, 2016 I used to teach IT at a large TAFE ( Community college in the US) and we had Dell right through. Never ever will I have one. Everything proprietary ( even power supplies needing to be replaced by Dell) and way underpowered. I build my own but if you can't get a good generic box from someone that can built to a spec and who knows their stuff. This is never a chain store or a large manufacturer.
