Fire needs a fix

My Surprise was set on fire, and 5 men fought it…. EVENTUALLY they put it out.

 

 

Then, 24 men are pumping out water...

So me Surprise, "Unpleasant" is trading broadsides with a bloke in his Cerberus. I suspect its live oak, or that me gunnery was off because i were sleepy, because tis holding up quite well.

 

I have the upper hand, of course, until that bloody fire started...

 

I called the men off everything to fight the fire, so naturally the Boatswain sends 5 of the available 200 men to fight it.

 

The fire burns out of control… A result hardly unexpected with such poor crew management. It begins to spread.

 

I be thinking this may be the end of us as me consort ships are reporting "Oh yeah, you have a BIG fire now."

 

Finally the Boatswain send enough men to bring the fire under control, about 40 men. 

 

Then as the fire threat is reduced, he pulls men OFF fire duty, slowing the extinguishing if the fire! 

 

he took so long to get the fire out, that now we are starting to fill up with water.

 

He sends 24 men to the pumps straight away… Not 5… 24.

 

Fortunately, "Unpleasant" is a tough wench and she won't go down! She be built from me own design.
