Batman Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 I just noted, after I put a common extra planking on my Bellona - which is made of blue Live Oak with yellow Build strength - has a basic armour of 8880HP on the sides. As the common extra planking gives + 4.75% on the armour, it should increase to 9301,8 (8880 / 100 * 104,75). Ingame it displays "only" 9231 HP. Am I wrong with the math here or is it a bug? Not tested on other ships.
Diemos Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Maybe related; I added a bug report yesterday noting a descrepancy in some of the stats between the tooltip on the Home screen, and the listed stats on the Equipment screen... This was without any armor perks, but maybe there is something wrong in the math..?

Not tested on other ships. Ur math is wrong. I believe all bonuses are calculated of Base HP. Since Live Oak and Build STR are bonuses too, means that basic ship HP is lower then 8880. Since 9231 - 8880 = 351 and thats considered to be 4.75, u can calculate that basic ship HP is around 7389. And Live Oak + Build strength give 20% HP together. 7389 * 1.2 = 8866,8. Pretty close, some of accuracy lost with cutting digits off. ps 13.2/8880 is 0.15% mistake. pps Bellona HP is 7400. With 24.75% bonus thats 9231,5 exactly. ppps IMHO better build big ships with extra planking or extra crew. Its way better with recent crew management patch. Edited March 16, 2016 by buccaneer
Batman Posted March 16, 2016 Author Posted March 16, 2016 Ah, so the information on the sihp screen acutally shows the basic HP. I thought it would be some kind of placeholder for the different wood types.
Kanay Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 (edited) Extra planking in basic quality supposed to add 3% of armor for all sides, few example : Trincomalee live oak default armor ( crew space, not built strength ): Side : 4926 Bow : 1232 Stern: 492 with extra planking basic (+3% on the paper) : Side : 5061 +2.741% Should be 5073.78 with 3% Bow : 1265 +2.679% Should be 1268.96 with 3% Stern: 506 +2.846% Should be 506.76 with 3% Surprise live oak default armor ( crew space, no built strength ) : Side : 2623 Bow : 655 Stern: 262 With basic extra planking (+3% on the paper): Side : 2695 +2.745% Should be 2701.69 with 3% Bow : 673 +2.748% Should be 674.65 with 3% Stern: 270 +3.053% Should be 269.86 with 3% Cerberus Live oak ( crew space, no built strength ) default armor : Side : 2380 Bow : 595 Stern: 237 with basic extra planking (+3% on the paper): Side : 2445 +2.731% Should be 2451.4 with 3% Bow : 611 +2.689% Should be 612.85 with 3% Stern: 244 +2.954% Should be 244.11 with 3% Only a few values are really close to 3% of armor added, it's never really 3%, sometimes it's rounded and close sometimes it's a bit more far, some could get a few more HP points if it was really 3% or rounded to 3% especially on the sides of the ships. Tomms123 Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 Armor/armour(whatever) is not the same thing as HP. 1
buccaneer Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 (edited) @Kanay, wrong math. @Tomms123 - Exactly! Edited March 16, 2016 by buccaneer 1
Mored Posted March 16, 2016 Posted March 16, 2016 I posted that alreaady 2 weeks before: http://forum.game-labs.net/index.php?/topic/11456-formular-change-for-ship-upgrades-build-ins-and-slots/
Batman Posted March 16, 2016 Author Posted March 16, 2016 Ok I go it. So the extra armour gets calculated from the base HP, not from the actual side structure.
