Throckmorton Posted August 11, 2014 Posted August 11, 2014 I'm in too! I've done pretty much every age of sail game there is as far back as Wooden Ships Iron Men! Beta/alpha'd a number of games. Captain_Wick Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 The ships in this game on my RIG will be looking like they have the breath of GOD in their sails, lol.
BungeeLemming Posted August 14, 2014 Posted August 14, 2014 whatever that means. But point is: the better your grafics card, the better your game experience. Its not the most CPU hungry game. My i5(3750k) is runing at 60-70% load. Some peaks ofc. Only make sure you have a directX11 GPU since its the only thing that will 100% prevent you from playing it

perry88 Posted August 21, 2014 Posted August 21, 2014 I, too, volunteer to be a tester. I'm a former naval officer who works in the serious game space (found this game by seeing a clip on the Unity trailer) and I love the Hornblower and O'Brian series. 1

Xenutheeviloverlord Posted September 1, 2014 Posted September 1, 2014 I too am very interested in Naval Action. I also am part of the early access Ultimate General: Gettysburg and think that I can contribute insight on Naval Action as I have in UGG.
Aubrey Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 Well, who wouldn't, obviously. Just leaving my mark here... just in case.
Xenutheeviloverlord Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 welp... might as well also post here, stating that I'd love to help test the game. You never know.
Thomas Blackwell Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 At this point, I'm just going to copy and paste one of the many many posts of mine on the subject of testing, and new testers. --- I doubt Game Labs will be looking for many more testers. With Naval Action cleared for Steam release, pre-orders may start rolling out sooner, rather than later. This may not be the case however. If and when Game Labs decide to re-open the alpha to new testers, they will announce it in an official thread. Until then, the best way for you to be chosen as a tester is to be an active and positive presence here on the forums. Engage in conversations and discussions about the game, be open and friendly to your fellow forum users, etc etc etc. As I said a long time ago in a thread far, far away... Game Labs are looking for dedicated and mature individuals to help them test their game. It's down to you to first prove to them that you are capable. 1
michaelws Posted September 6, 2014 Posted September 6, 2014 May I ask why one would partake in the forums if all that is posted is speculation and none of us have any hands on with the game? I have very little time in my life to simply post something for the sake of posting. I seriously do not mean that to be rude just that my day to day to-do list is more than I can keep up with. I am 66 years old with a wife and job and an acre of growing things that need constant attention. So forgive me if I cannot attend to the forums without a reason. I have not checked here in a while so I do not know if there is a thread or threads here that are from those who are testing currently and are asking for input from those of us who are not and that they are sharing their knowledge and experiences. I was beta testing Ultimate General and we were told not to post information regarding our beta testing. On any other than the forums set up strictly for beta testers. It is a shame that our value as testers would be based primarily in the number of posts we make irregardless of how constructive those posts are regarding the production of this game. I am quite certain that there are here, as in the Ultimate General beta, many people who know far more about the ships and gun handling and tactics and game interfaces than do I. I was amazed at the incredible amount of knowledge some folks wrote out and their incredible suggestions for improvements to that beautiful game. I was humbled by the expertise and devotion of some of those testers. It made my input seem almost worthless. But I did get to make a few comments about what I thought might make it more enjoyable for me and others who found the same type of interests in playing that type of game. However it turns out, if we are being chosen strictly based on the level of our input here then it looks like I should just take my name out of the hat. I will more than likely purchase the game as it looks to be a wonderful naval simulation of that era and I have purchased any and all of the age of sail software ever produced...going back to the days of the Commodore Amiga. My best to all those who have the time to post here on a regular basis and I hope you all get chosen for early testing and that you find it as wonderful as your expectations. I wish I had the time...but alas...life doesn't permit me that luxury right now.
