[MCC] Die Antwoord Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 I would like the rudder to be like sails, with infinite adjustment either way and a key to bring it back to center. Very often going straight or going full turn is not the best option, ie: when turning and trying to keep an enemy ship in your sights. Would be nice to set it half way so I don't have to constantly readjust my heading to keep my broadside aligned.
xAzDKr Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Instead of one way or the other as suggested In this post, I'd prefer if we had an option to switch between the two methods in the settings. I prefer the current method of "all or nothing" but I understand the desire for something like what is described in the OP.
maturin Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 In the past there was a lot of discussion as to whether smaller rudder angles and gentle turns were needed. In the past we concluded that such a feature would be minimally useful. But now I'm of a different mind. In a chase, it is impossible to make even slight course adjustments without bleeding tons of speed. I find myself making tiny yard angle changes in order to yaw slowly without decelerating. This isn't good from the standpoint of realism or utility. Double-tapping the Control key should lock the rudder in the current position, and any further input should unlock it.
