NPC production will stay on its current level and will be gradually decreased over time to fully player dependent economy

This a quote from admin post here .

What do u guys think about that ?

I would say No , I don't see the reason to have ports stop resource production ! Infact stopping it might create an economy problem of some sort cuz right now whenever a player is short of some resource he can go buy from port market that produce it but if ports no longer producing it then we are left for the mercy of the player(s) who are producing it , now imagine how would that impact the economy and/or even new players ?

Almost every crafter player I know has already built a shipyard , iron ore mine , coal mine , hemp plantation and oak forest cuz these are the material are mostly consumed on ship building but they still need other material which they can buy from port market like gold , silver , copper , stone .. etc .

I know someone might say ' But this good for supply/demand market ' and I would agree but it would work on servers with decent population where there is a lot of players that will try cover market shortage or produce it to compete for contracts .

I would suggest keep port production up till we see how the market respond to the introduction of player buildings .

I totally vote for a decrease of NPC production by 50%.. current situation is ridiculous and all prices have decreased.. leading to an increase of supply of all materials and increase flow of resources in capital ports.. leading to overall price reduction... leaving traders making little to nothing at this moment.

Any noob can craft materials (with the exception of notes) .. so what's stopping the entire community from crafting materials and sell lower than everyone else?

Also the appearance of player names next to contracts is a brutal invasion of privacy.

Yeah that should be removed. If a builder wants to put his stamp on his work fine but people shouldnt just know who makes everything.

In the actual situation of the game as it is now (no possibility of wide inter-faction trade and any port conquerable except capitals) the shift to a full player driven economy will mean the final economic disaster for undernumbered nations: no access to resources, low production of ships, low possibility to conquer new ports (and then to access new resources), higher price of ships, negative risk vs reward in small scale PVP and in PVE. Inevitabile consequence: progressive reroll to major factions, which will make things worse and worse.

You are ignoring the most important thing: replacement happens gradualy over time. The actual situation as of now is irrelevant because it will not be like that. The situation changes and then the production relation changes in accordance to that situation then.

Ive posted this in the pirate topics before: I would like the ability for a player to hire NPC Traders and the ability to hire a cutter or lynx at any rank if you are sailing a trader ship yourself. This would make the economy if its player based flow better. Honestly the ratio of combat captains to trader captains is not what an economy would need. So NPCs which arent just an AI spawn, but a hired ship with a players cargo in it.
Now there are four options:
-Sail the trader ship yourself, hire a consort, or dont, your choice.
-Hire a Trader NPC and let it loose on the world, set its destination port and it will go off by itself. It would appear on the OW just like any other NPC ship  (you can sail next to it in OW if you want) , maybe add the information by who it was hired. And when it gets sunk you can receive a late (20+ min) notification: Your trader ship has not reached its destination, rumors are it was captured by: Pirate - Pagan Pete.   Or something like that, lets say it simulates knowledge of local fishermen who saw it being chased or something. Now you can go and hunt the scurvy dog.

-Hire a Trader NPC with one or two cutters or lynxes as escorts, Same as above, except it has a bit of protection. (All this costs money by the way, so you need to think if its worth protecting that trader with a cutter worth 12k or something)
-Hire a Trader NPC and add it to your fleet, like you can cutters and lynxes now, so on the OW your ship shows up, just like it does now, with the addition Fleet:Traders Snow.

You probably at PVP server cuz at the PVE server we have different case but I do rather get 50% over no production at all .

What if someone want just do basic trading ' buy cheap at port A sell high at port B ' and he don't want get in port buildings business , where he can buy goods to trade if ports are no longer have production ? I don't think the game should limited/force players in following certain path or gameplay .
