Hello good sir!

There is very little information supplied in your post (logs/what pc you have) and what you have tried to do to solve it.
So without any puns intended ill post a standard procedure you could hopefully follow that eliminates and locate where the issue is. This works for any software you are having issues with and saves you alot of time and late hours on google trying to find answers.

1. Reinstall the game.

Making sure the installation is correct.

Still issues?

2. Update drivers

Making sure your machine/hardware is properly up to date with software.

Still issues?

3. Run game in different compability modes (link to what it looks like here. Rightclick navalaction.exe -> properties -> compability, chose win7)

Eliminating compability issues (old machines/hardware tend to like win7 compability mode)

Still issues?

4 (optional). Run game on second computer (borrow a laptop or similiar) and with your steamaccount

This is optional, this would pinpoint the issue. now we know if its your machine or the game.
This could prevent the need to reinstall OS if you found out that it was faulty software (if software dosent work on second computer ieather, its most likely the software and/or steamaccount and would need futher investigations of loggs/rutins)

5. Reinstall OS

Format C: is always nice now and then, to get a whole fresh setup

Still issues?

6. Extended Support needed

Now we need loggs, speccs and more information to analyze what could be causing the issue.

Information needed:

-Dxdiag (start -> run -> type: dxdiag -> press ok, save to txt file)

-Naval action logs (in X:\yourinstallationdirectory\steamapps\common\Naval Action\logs)

-Whatever more loggs the Devteams needs. I think there is a testing tool aswell if you rightclick the game in steam.

Dxdiag shows the speccs of your machine, such as GPU/CPU/Memory/HD/soundcard etc.

Start -> Run (windows + R shortcut) -> type in: "dxdiag" -> Press ok and continue.

Now you have a window showing your speccs, it can be dumped as a txt

Edit: a good place to share blocks of text like this is via pastebin. its free, no signup and you get a sharelink instead of needing to upload files and stuff!
But if your Dxdiag.txt is to large for pastebin you have to upload it somewhere.

Hopefully compability or reinstalling some drivers/game will be your solution! (as its the quickest and simplest).

Goodluck!

Brown Bess, you can try to launch "Play Naval Action (x86)" as Steam Launcher second option, this will allow you to play on a 32 OS, but it is barely supported

Hi

Oh dear this now makes me think that "the problem" is not the lack of 64 bit or OS vista.

I need to come clean and tell you that my cpu skills are probably the worse you may have come accross and when i have a problem with a game what happens is i have no chose but to abandon it coz most tech support teams are unable to help coz i cannot articulate the problem or they are simpely  not prepaired to give so much time to the likes of myself EG:I would not know how to post my Dxdiag even if i knew what it is.

What happens when i try to launch NA is i get a message telling me "an unknowen error has occured" and gives me a link to steam support which tells me to do things i have absoulutly no clue to what it all means, jargon that totaly baffels me its made all the worse being dyslexic, about 1/4 of the games i buy are abandoned coz i dont know how to start the game, its all down to luck at the end of the day UGG worked fine for me so there was no need for contacting support for that, now that to me is good luck.

The really odd thing about the whole thing is i can play complex games with the wright docs, more than one psychologist has told me i have a blind spot for technolygy and there is nothing i can do about it and just learn to live with it which is immpossible when a large part of my life is gaming.

So heres hoping that when i do upgrade things will go just fine but that last post from a dev has left me very worried indeed so all i can do now is wait and see ( keeping my figers and toes crossed till the upgrade.

When i realize a game  has to be abandoned i can take it on the chin but this gem of a game is differant i want it sooo badly it keeps me awake at night worriing.

I am now totaly clueless as what to do.

Captain, please, as it has been said above, do the following:

Start -> Run (windows + R shortcut) -> type in: "dxdiag" -> Press ok and continue. Then hit on "Save all information" and once it offer to save the txt file, save it on your PC, then open it and copy from:

"System Information" to "Sound Devices" strings and paste it to me in private message or here in the thread.

Another way is to tell me your Steam name so I will try to find any info about you in the bug reporter, but this is no 100% guarantee there will be any reports from you.

This is needed to help you solve the issue, since you may run PC without DirectX 11 and shader model 5 GPU. Please, provide the information
