This Game is in Early Access, which most people KNOW that it is still in development.

But many older in age Gamers, IT Specialist, Project/Rick Management Professional etc are sadden by the "Winner takes ALL at ALL means" attitude.

This does not help the Guys that have been playing NA for over 2 years to the player that will by the game next week.

I felt sorry for a player i was talking to today, that has been playing NA for a long time and has great insight into the game mechanics and offered great "Computer Code"  to help the Devs with BR in port Battles (Crew to Ship Percentage to the Battle Rating Percentage).

That was over 6 Month ago, and his patience had got all used up.

So his Game-play now is I will "kill the map" to force the Devs to act.

But my concern is the people that has the  Micro-Rewards mindset, and feed my ego paint the Map one nation colour while we are in EA stage.

Lets pull together "Community" and help the GAME!!!!!!!!!

While I agree that it is important to remember that NA is still in Early Access, I think it is too much to ask players to act like Testers...

Let's be honest here, moment when NA went into open EA on Steam we have a lot of players that just want to play this game as any other.

Most of them just want to have fun, and doesn't care on getting input posted here or play testing things... and I think this is not entirely bad.

It is just too much to ask players to act like testers, however when players act naturally, like they would act on full release at least Devs can see how player behavior in game influence whole system.

It is kind of sad that small, consolidated community isn't so small or united anymore, however it is just to be expected with that kind of player numbers we are seeing right now.

And about PvP players... well lots of them have basically this kind of mentality: Gumball reference ;)

It is also natural... most of them doesn't care what their opponents think of feel, they just want to fight them and win. If you analyse any MMO community it most of PvP players are like this, they look for competition and if they have upper hand they will go for total domination. Of course that is not the only kind of players you can see in MMOs, as they are many more "archetypes" but it is probably a large chunk of community.

In the end, people will play this game to have fun and search for any activiies they consider fun, will it be exploration, crafting, trading, grinding or just fighting your opponents.

You help the game the most by exploiting and abusing the sh...t out of it as much as humanly possible in the testing phase. Then you need to report it, so they see what's happening and why it is happening.

it does not help the game to be timid, kind, gentle, honest, or anything else, because the players in the final release version also will not be that. Noone will hold back once the game is released. That's why we need to find every possible exploit and abuse it to the point where the devs have to change it. I fear, i speak from experience, that there is not much else you can do to convince the devs of an opinion, but to have them experience it first hand, or to make the cries loud enough.

Dont try to change player attitude, it is never going to work. You have to design the games mechanics to deal with the player attitude. Not the other way around. Even if you say, "it's a sandbox, people can do what they want" it is simply not true, since the games mechanics steer player behavior. e.g. If missions would give no exp, noone would do them.

PS: many people have offered many things to the devs. they took a lot of help, and they refused a lot of stuff. Why that is, i dont know, but it's for sure a concious decision of them. They are a really small dev team, they need time for a lot of things, and many people want many different things from them. They cant please all by implementing their ideas. They need to try and see if their systems work, and then use our suggestions to improove over time.

As a community it is imperative to work as whole especially because not all of new comers and early backers actually wish for the same exact things.

It is great that many focus on the big strategy and port conquest. Others call to attention to open sea combat situations.

We all have ideas, we all have different academic backgrounds, coding, history, and above all hobbies and passion for this game.

No idea is lost. Many will be disregarded as not doable or not in scope but some are definitely included.

This is going to be hard to say but you are 100% right on the head there.

We already knew that the "CONQUEST" part of the game need a major overhaul, because of the problem of PB and BR and so forth!!!

So, you are saying, "let's smash it so the Devs change it, just like the EVE mentality"?

Sorry, I still believe in the human nature I grew up with, it was called common sense, and having some foresight, not a "mob, I want it NOW culture".

But I'm seeing that is to much to ask.

Call me old, but as John Lennon sang.....Imagine

You may say I'm a dreamer

But I'm not the only one

I hope someday you'll join us

And the world will be as one

Before the sweden wipe out, people still could have said:

"I dont think sweden will be reduced to 1 port. They have such fast respawn times and such a high player concentration around their capital, it wont be possible to wipe them out."

Now if someone argues, we can allways say: "it already did happen, we prooved it's actually not even remotely difficult to completely wipe out 2 nations in 1 weekend with this system." Post a screenshot of the map where it happened, and the discussion is over.

Abusing / Using the games systems to the max is meant to proove statements and to make valid arguements based on actual facts and less on "i think it would".

I've been banging my head against the wall trying to get this point across too, Puchu. It's like shouting into the wind sometimes though, as has been clearly demonstrated here.

You don't find bugs by saying "I think maybe this might happen" and then trying to avoid it, folks.

I agree with this sentiment. The U.S. and GB specifically have been guilty of this nonsense where they come online at off-hours and snap up a half dozen ports against no opposition. They're ruining for other players one of the most enjoyable aspects of the game: loaded port battles.

Sorry about the "off hours" it's just because we love living and playing in Australia!!!
