Who's bright idea was this?

I'm now stuck in a a mission with an enemy player in a snow who is just sailing away from me for the next hour. What a waste of time this it.

I really like your game. but i feel some of the mechanics are going to drive me away from playing it.

Well, if you are chased by enemies in the OW, you can use your missions as escape points.

Since they wont be able to follow you, effectively you disappear in thin air for them.

I reckon that being one of the biggest reasons why.

This guy joined in the middle of my mission. What the heck is a snow going to do against a third rate? All he is doing is wasting my time and it's getting on my nerves

Just leave the mission...

I think it was a poor choice to no longer allow friendly players to join your missions, while hostile players still can. You end up in the awkward situation of either having to run away from the hostiles and the AI, or having to turn and fight in a battle where the odd are potentially stacked against you significantly. It would be nice to have the choice of allowing random friendly players to come to your aid in a situation where you need it.

It can be a bit frustrating having a roaming group of 4-5 ships that can jump into a mission knowing very well they can jump into a mission against a single player knowing full well that is the only opposition they will face, and have the aid of an AI to keep their target locked in battle.

Having a feature where you could allow/disallow friendly players to join could be useful for situations like this.

I think its a great mechanic in the game and hope its never removed. I mean we are supposed to be at war with each other so ANYTHING that slows down the progress of my enemy or frustrated him to go away is a win. Why is this so hard for some people to rationalize?

Some of my best fights came from getting in a mission. I love taking a privateer into a fight with a cerb vs ai and luring him into thinking he can ignore me while i sit and use long guns to sink him.

It sorta amazes me how many people in a pvp server only wish to do boaring pve missions all day and expect to be left alone. Wouldn't you be better served on pve servers ? Hell i think missions shouldn't even be in pvp servers.

I agree with this. Its also a great way to get away from a gank squad if you jump into a mission, they cant follow. Everyone should be allowed to enter missions but unfortunately people complained and had it removed.

I'm not sure how productive it is to pvp gameplay if the norm outside of port battles becomes a constant x vs 1, I think this would end up becoming a chore for both parties, and either way it would be more interesting to see more versatility in all ranges of pvp (Like the awaited arrival of more ship types and maybe even larger battles).
