Mrdoomed Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Ok in the hopes of encouraging more acts of piracy i decided to make a story thread for pirates and privateers to tell their tales of valor against the oppressive nationals. This is for pirates who pirate and raid not for our brave brothers waging war on a large scale for ports. I guess ill start it off. A few days ago a fellow captain and i had spent the last of our hard earned booty err wages and decided to go out for a raid against our favorite targets. The rich fat British empire. We took out our ship of choice a merc and renn and set out. Within 15 minutes we found a British captain sailing the waters alone just asking to be attacked. 20 minutes later we had just finished off the second unfortunate brit when we saw what we was looking for , a lone British trade ship choked full of " our " property. We unfurled our sails and gave chase but he was no match and soon had him in our grasp and began to fire our guns. Suddenly out of that cursed British fog comes 2 suprises and a frigate to spoil our treasure! Wanting nothing they had to offer we turned to look for better targets but they pursued. We moved as fast as the wind would take us but we could not shake them and was just about to give up when davy jones smiled on us and a storm came. We used the cold atlantic rain to lose our captures......or so we thought. Yes we shook the frigate but the 2 captains of the suprises found us. We had had enough and decided to go after these red devils. As we engaged i used my long guns to keep one enemy at bay while my fellow captian used his speed to seperate the devils. Racing across the sea i fired broadside after broadside into the enemy seperating plank from timber and rope from sail. I couldnt believe his ship could take the abuse but kept up my fight. Unfortunately he somehow must have got lucky amd landed a few caronade rounds in my soft fir planks so i was not without scars. Not knowing where my mate had gone i decided to turn back and lure the enemy back to some help and to check on my friend. The turn cost me my rear but i made it and managed to rip a huge hole in the enemies bow , before heading towards my friend. More and more long range broadsides where fired smashing huge holes in both our ships and i could not believe he was still floating despite seeing the waves beginning to lap over his bow. Luckily i found my fellow captain and signaling him to get ready to hit the captain following me i lured him in. Just as i thought i was safe a caronade round took my rudder causing me to stop. As i waited for the renn to come to my aid the suprise and i exchanged shot after shot both hoping for a death blow. Then cannons eruptions came from my side and as i watched them find thier mark on the suprise next to me and watched her slip beneath the waves. Thank God im still alive ! As i lowered my spyglass i saw i would not be for long. As my friend returned to finish of his enemy i watched the crew lower the longboats and await our rescue. All in all we lost 1 merc but took several small britsh ships of war and 2 suprise and sailed home to divide our well earned gains. Ok hope more will share thier storys and maybe more players will look to raiding and piracy as a point of fun instead of just port wars. All stories are welcome hust please make sure they are pvp stories and you are a pirate or privateer. Of course this could be stupid and never get a look but oh well it was a fun story to retell. 1
Grundal Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Thank you for the story. It was an entertaining read. What server are you on?
Mrdoomed Posted March 4, 2016 Author Posted March 4, 2016 Thank you for the story. It was an entertaining read. What server are you on? Pvp2 we are minority holding the raiding and piracy mentality vs the port capture one although keeping dozens of nationals busy every night i thinks help the cause but again im a greedy pirate out for booty......and gold.
surfimp Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Sounds like a blast! (Pardon the pun) I currently sail for a national but am primarily interested in privateering as opposed to port battles. There's much to be said for the thrill of the hunt, regardless of whether you're the hunter or the hunted. Fortunately NA gives you the chance to experience both, often in rapid succession! Good luck and hope to see you on the seas of PVP2 someday. Whether friend or foe when we meet, I'll know we share a common love of booty!

I look forward to reading one of your stories of privateering. Im hoping people will share their stories and show that pvp can be fun even if the odds are bad and that losing a ship can be some fun. Plus pirates and privateers sail smaller ships and the loss hurts less. Hopefully we can bring more light on the piracy side of pirates and the Privateer life if nationals. My favorite would be the story of a U.S privateer sinking a brit ship of course. 1
surfimp Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 I rerolled on PVP2 from USA to British because some IRL friends have begun playing the game and wanted to go that way, but given my interest in privateering & piracy and my already-demonstrated lack of loyalty I wouldn't be too surprised to see a black flag flying above my transom in the near future. I'm building up a small fleet of Privateers and now a Mercury in a strategically located free port, with aims to raid American shipping in the near future. I'll definitely return to this thread to share my tales of plunder!
