sacapus Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 There're a problem with the spawn rate for NPC with illegal good cargo, the sea is mostly empty in the afternoon and evening. I spent hours looking for a Brig or a Snow with illegal goods on the american coastline but I was only able to find a few Cutter and Lynx. In the morning, after the daily maintenance, the problem seems to be corrected but it re-appeared later during the day. I sailed from Jobe all the way to Charleston, not a single Brig or Snow detected. It seems that some ships don't respawn after been farmed by players leaving an empty sea for the afternoon and evening players. Is this a bug or it is intended that way ? Its a little boring being on an empty sea for hours, the view is nice but its not really good for my wallet, any advice ? Also, It would be nice to see some marine and wild life out there, dolphins, whales, sea-birds.
kitsunelegend Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 I'm not really having an issue with it on the PvE server, though there are a few times when it'll be an hour or two that I don't see any traders at all period. But then after that I may spot one of two, or there'll be so damn many I can't cap them all. Honestly, I prefer it that way because it seems more realistic. There'll be gaps in trade routes, ships with different departure times, maybe they stopped for a potty break and the wind changed so they chose to stay in port a little longer. On the other hand, you could just become a pirate and attack anyone you want. 2
Mrdoomed Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 What would really help creat more player traders ( traders are traders) is by making nationals players ability to make gold based more of trading instead of killing. This would reflect reality and history since it wasnt like the carrebean was just full of warships racing around 24/7 killing each other. There was far far far more merchant ships and the game should reflect that.
Capt. Rice Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 To me sometimes the sea is dead...Sometimes it is full of life, usually when im not hunting...
Hethwill, the Red Duke Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 I do not notice this much, and my prime time is evening GMT, but due to the fact I seldom privateer the same area over and over again. I was amazed in one of my longest trips and arriving at Key West I had about two dozen sails on sight, all of them traders and smugglers. This was a while ago and at very late hours for me, probably prime time for US east coast buddies. Now with our privateer flotilla moving to Ile-a-Vache, I was again amazed at the amount of shipping running through the reaches of San Domingo. Will check Jamaica with more detail but I guess the trade lanes will be full. Sorry but cannot experience at all what you describe unless I am stubborn and stay over and over again in the same over populated area. Half a dozen captains chasing trade in sight of a port is a crowd...
Cmdr Thrudd Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 I've seen this from time to time as well. It's usually when we get a bunch of us together to go hunting It seems to fix itself after a day. Admin did say a few weeks ago that if you notice this happen to drop in a bug report though.
Admiral 8Q Posted March 2, 2016 Posted March 2, 2016 Seriously though, if you're in one area as a group, capturing and sinking smugglers, do you think they're really going to keep using that route? 1
