Jeheil Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 (edited) Right now I would only be able to play shallow water due to my lowbie level's (I have a Merc and a Snow). When the doohickey pops up to say X is attacking Y etc, I assume the only way to participate is to sail to said port battle yeh ? How long does a typical shallow water engagement take...so I dont spend 40 mins sailing to a 45 min event Are there areas of the map (PVP2) where there tend to be more of these events...would quite like to give them a go Edited March 1, 2016 by Jeheil
Lord Roberts Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 Yes you would have to sail to that port to take part in it, if it is a deep water port you will need a Niagara or above to enter and for Shallow water a Cutter - Snow/Merc to enter. Shallow waters only have 3 towers that can take anywhere from 10-45 mins to destroy. You get 25 mins from when the battle starts to join in. Deep water ports can take anywhere from 15-1 hour due to there being 5 towers. Hopefully this was helpful and if you need anything else answered please feel free to ask 2
Mighty Bouff Posted March 1, 2016 Posted March 1, 2016 If you want to take part in port battles then I'd advocate joining a clan. The majority of offensive port battles will be organised by a single clan (or coalition) and they will have enough members to fill all the spots. So either you might not get in, or you will take a spot from somebody who is in the right ship and on their teamspeak (other voice software is available). The same is true to a lesser extent for defensive port battles - with these coordination is the key to rush as many defenders to the area as possible with them in the right ships and on the right TS.
