Steelfury Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 As the title says I would suggest a simple solution to factions going 'extinct' and that is make flags cost, inversely proportionate to the size of the nation you buy them for. E.g. nation x has 10 ports, the conquest flag for one of their ports costs 10 times the cost of a flag for nation y who has 100 ports. 2
Vllad Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 This is a pretty good idea. They really didn't think through very much that it is already hard being a small nation. Making it cost the same for them as other nations to conduct port battles is not much of a "catch up property".
Galileus Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 It just makes it take longer and grind more. It's not a solution, it's buying time before problem surfaces again. 1
Heibges Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 Why not just make them unconquerable national ports? Like PotBS.
GrapeShot Posted February 29, 2016 Posted February 29, 2016 (edited) Get rid of port battles. Make the economy robust - with the need to discover resources, build the infrastructure to exploit them, and the ship them to market, all the while protecting them from raids - and you would have an organic reason to battle. Port battles are too artificial and there will never be a good solution, aside from the massively silly timers, to nightly flipping Edited March 1, 2016 by GrapeShot 1
