eriks Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 There really needs to be a separation of port raiding from port capturing. If after winning a port battle the whole attacking force just leaves (to go on to the next port battle most likely) then the port should automatically just flip back after a short period of time. This makes total sense. Why would a population stay loyal to an invader if the whole invading force just up and leaves after the battle? If you want to hold a port, not just raid it you need to leave enough of a presence there that the population of the port has a reason to change their allegiance. What might that presence look like? A reasonable percentage (say 25%) of the attacking force needs to set up an outpost at the newly captured port. or A large percentage of the attacking force can't leave the port zone of influence for a period of time. Port raiding would still be very lucrative, it just would not result in a change of allegiance of the port. This could solve a ton of the port battle game dynamics issues that we see now.
Deadstuff Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 this sound great. it would prevent a lot of port being taken in 1 night. although the radius should be at least as big as the radius missions can spawn
hanserrr Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 This sounds great! What you are thinking is that you buy a flag as it is now and then when maintenance/port change comes it "decides" wether or not the proper actions has been taken in order to conquer it, right? Or do you have a choice to which kind of assault to perform when buying the flag?
