Zelekendel Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Just now I was totally surprised that after a day of hard fought battles, and success in capturing Culp's Hill and Cemetery Hill, following an Epic Victory at Seminary Ridge, the battle ends with the Confederates withdrawing. What on earth? Do the Confederates need to capture everything, including Cemetery Ridge, for the battle to continue? How can this be? Is this some sort of artificial "difficulty modifier", and if it is, where can I turn it off? It can't be true that if I play Union, I basically win if I lose everything but Cemetery Ridge. I want a campaign that can flow in any direction regardless of the side I play - don't make the campaign suddenly end if I don't do well enough at a certain point like a horrible linear campaign game! I will not play again before this happens - it's ridiculous if the only way I can continue is by doing a "Panzer General style" all objectives captured success!
R.E.B.Blunt Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 The Confederates have a far harder time to win than the Yankees. The Confederates have to not only capture the VP's but you have to destroy the Union army.
Nick Thomadis Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 Please have patience one week more to fix such kind of bugs in battle flow. I understand it is frustrating but that week was impossible to repair all the needed things for the battle sequence.
TheIronKing Posted July 6, 2014 Posted July 6, 2014 I had similar issues on day 1 where I had captured two objectives and the union 2 and I had a major defeat. Although when I went to play the next day it said we had a victory so who knows!
Zelekendel Posted July 7, 2014 Author Posted July 7, 2014 I was tired, and shocked, so didn't perhaps specify that the result was a "deadlock" but regardless in the fluff text the rebels withdrew. Casualties were 11k Confederate and 13k Union. I definitely understand you're under a lot of pressure and doing a lot of good Darth, keep at it - if it's a battle flow bug, no worries. I was just afraid it was by design - this is not Panzer General after all!
Nick Thomadis Posted July 7, 2014 Posted July 7, 2014 Yes sorry about this. It is definitely a bug. Battles in next patch will be much more reasonable in continuation than now. But I have to notice that before 3 weeks the sitiuation was much more weird and worse Fixes come in every patch as much as we have time to add. 1
