I know that if you attack your own nation twice and they do not have contraband that you will become a pirate. I like this and it makes sense....

Now my question is can a Pirate fight on the side of a nation enough times to earn a pardon and allow him to join that nation.

It just makes sense that if a Pirate does enough to get on the good side of a nation that he would be offered  way to join that nation. Allowing him to give up his Pirate ways?

Just wondering if this can be done.

I can see them adding in a potential Privateer system in the future.

this is what i find interesting but we'll see because not all nation are filled and so having another player faction would require more work

Nations are incredibly imbalanced and also guild size is causing issues as well. They should have capped guilds at 50 people instead of 250, currently some guilds on PvP2 are just entirely too large and hurt more than they help.

There are just a huge amount of issues that need to be looked at with the game from a community standpoint.

What is the difference between one 250 person guild, and 5 50 person guilds that are, in effect, the same guild?  ^_^

If they want to form and maintain 5 different 50 man guilds then I would prefer that, yes. Thing is with only 800 average people prime-time on PvP2, with SoL having however many people they have, I assume almost 200, and SoB having another 180ish last time I heard, yea... 250 people guilds is fine if you have 2000 people on a server average, but when half your server is two guilds, it's an issue sir and to say it isn't makes me doubt any forward thinking on your part.

You are of course entitled to your opinion.

all i can say for SOL is that at any given time we can have a range of 15-65member on at once we may have numbers in our guild but not all of them are on at the same time.

At the moment Pirates are a nation anyway, 90% of the guilds are all working together and have pretty much the same functions of other nations.

People want a privateer system but it would be hard to come up with a good fair system.

Not at the moment but I have a clumsy work around for you.

1. Go to free port. Trade your best ships /stuff and cash to a trusted player of the nation you want to join.

2. Delete your character. Wait 4 mins, recreate your character on selected nation.

3. Sail to the free port. Have trusted player trade your stiff back.

BUT why on earth would you want to leave a life of freedom for one of rules and orders???!?!?!?

Would be nice if you could earn a 'Letter of Mark' for other nations (maybe through Missions given in a Free Port) this would enable you enter those nations ports and take a commission (after completing certain tasks for that nation) where-upon  you then get to choose to revoke your commission for Nation A and are Commisioned (at same rank) for Nation B
