Ruthless4u Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Should the developers add a stats page to track win percentage, damage caused/received, etc? I'm against it myself, just does not seem to fit the mood of the game.
Pigafetta Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 Why not? Maybe, just to stay in character, instead of showing the statistics, a title can be added to your name... the more battles you win the better the title will be. So if you enter in a combat you already know who is the best player. Of course different battles have to be rated differently... if you kill a trader... a 0.1 % is more than enough
Mrdoomed Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 If you want toxic egos yes if not then no. Just my OP from every game ive played online since star fleet command. 3
Dutchpower Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 (edited) I dont think it will add any value to the game except for what is stated above Edited February 25, 2016 by Dutchpower
Arvenski Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 (edited) If you want toxic egos yes if not then no. Just my OP from every game ive played online since star fleet command. Agreed. I've been around WoT enough to have had enough of stat-based dick-measuring contests. That's the last thing we need here, if you ask me. Edited February 25, 2016 by Arvenski 2
Chustler Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 It was discussed in the past and most people (including many of the top fighters) expressed their distaste for the idea of public stat boards in a game like this. 3
Admiral 8Q Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 It was discussed in the past and most people (including many of the top fighters) expressed their distaste for the idea of public stat boards in a game like this. Seems pointless to me. You get an in-game reputation anyways. 1
Ruthless4u Posted February 25, 2016 Author Posted February 25, 2016 WOT killed any interest in stat tracking. Far to many use it as the proverbial " holy grail " of a players value. I do think it would be fun to have some sort of dueling system where you could challenge other players to single ship duels. Of course no XP or gold rewards to prevent abuse. 1
walleye Posted February 25, 2016 Posted February 25, 2016 I want tah see my names in Purplez! Make me a Unicorn!!111 But ya..I have seen stats bring out the worst in people. Not to say stats are the only thing that does that, but they sure do cause a lot of ruckus.
SphinX Posted February 26, 2016 Posted February 26, 2016 Another game I had been playing, Armored Wafare, recently gave people that ability to share and see others stats (if they allow access) and the game overnight became incredibly toxic. The WoT crowd didn't help, but stats ruin games. 1

The WoT crowd didn't help, but stats ruin games. AW was doomed to be a toxic mess of a community for two reasons, 1) SilentStalker. 2) Some of the most Toxic WoT players left WoT for AW and took that toxicity with them. OW PvP stats are useless anyways. Someone that only runs in a group and ganks single or small fleets could have crazy high stats for doing nothing but ganking. I don't think any PvP game I played kept open world PvP stats, maybe for duels, battlegrounds and arena style fights. But never for OW.
Rigge1988 Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 Do it the manlyman way. Write down you victories on a piece of yellowed paper with an inked feather. Keep track of yourself in a logbook.
Arvenski Posted February 27, 2016 Posted February 27, 2016 AW was doomed to be a toxic mess of a community for two reasons, 1) SilentStalker. 2) Some of the most Toxic WoT players left WoT for AW and took that toxicity with them. Reason 3 (I know I'm getting off topic here; sorry): it's a match-based, free-to-play tank game very similar in many ways to WoT, and designed to appeal to WoT's players. Therefore, the same "toxic mess of a community" is going to play both games. Also, I'd forgotten about SilentStalker. I think reading his blog (before Rita took it over) for too long helped to sour me to WoT for a while. That guy's pretty negative, to say the least.
The MetaBaron Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 (edited) I personally think it would be fun to add, but at the same time people are scared enough of losing a "precious" durability on their ship as it is... this would be yet another reason for them to run from close battles. It wont change that or anything except giving try hards something new to exploit.
Remo Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 If you want toxic egos yes if not then no. Just my OP from every game ive played online since star fleet command. There are already toxic egos.
Arvenski Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 There are already toxic egos. Yeah, but the fewer, the better. 1
CptEdwardKenway Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 (edited) I don't want this kind of stats. Maybe overall for the whole server. How many ships were sank, captured, port battles etc. But I don't want to see stats for players or nations just to push the ego of certain players. A normal player with work and family will never reach those super stats also a player who mostly supports other ships and not going for damage/kills. This kind of stuff would be a step to become a game like World of Tanks or War Thunder and that's the last thing we want. Many players are former players of those games and they simply have enough of this game mechanics. You can already see if a player is good by his ship or his captains rank. And if you underrate ir overrate players it's your problem. Always try to give your best against everyone but don't hunt and troll players who are marked with bad stats. Sea Nettle Posted February 28, 2016 Posted February 28, 2016 (edited) Horrible idea. It promotes many bad things during engagements to protect ones' own stats. As an example, very skilled captains refusing to team up with unskilled captains. Edited February 28, 2016 by Sea Nettle 1
